If you enjoy throwing your money into a bottomless pit, Bluegreen Vacations is the company for you. We sat through a brutal 6 hour presentation where they promised us the moon just to get a signature. The sales reps even gave us "off the record" advice, whispering that we could rent out our points to cover costs or gift weeks to our contractors for tax write-offs. Total lies. They also swore our maintenance fees wouldn't go up. Yearly maintenance fees increase in cost yearly. To put it in perspective, they charge us MORE in fees than we pay in property tax for our actual, physical house! And what do we get for that kind of money? “Sold out”, “No availability”...When we did manage to book their Las Vegas property, our son-in-law’s room had literal bed bugs. We strongly advise against doing business with this company.

Misleading Information Cost Me Time and Caused an Unnecessary Refund Problem I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Bluegreen. Before signing up, I repeatedly asked your representative whether I could book a hotel or stay in Daytona Beach, Florida using the membership. Daytona Beach was the specific destination I wanted, and I made that very clear. Your representative repeatedly told me that the answer was yes. Based on those assurances, I signed up and paid my deposit. When I later went online to book my trip, I discovered that I could not find an available Bluegreen location in Daytona Beach as I had been led to believe. This raises a serious question: Why was I repeatedly told that I could use the membership for Daytona Beach if that was not actually available? I canceled my membership because I would not have signed up if I had received accurate information initially. Then I experienced additional problems getting my deposit refunded. Instead of simply receiving my money back in my account, I am now being required to wait for a paper check. This entire situation could have been avoided if I had simply been given accurate information before I signed up and paid my money. I expect companies to be honest and accurate when answering direct questions from potential customers. My experience did not meet that expectation.

Back in 2025, my ex and I made the biggest financial mistake of my life by buying a timeshare with Bluegreen Vacations at Big Cedar Lodge. Fast forward to today: after a few drastic changes in my life circumstances, I am now stuck with a timeshare I have literally never used. Trying to get any help from Bluegreen has been like talking to a brick wall. Instead of treating me like a human being who is experiencing genuine hardships, they just keep sending me automated "You Own It" letters. When I finally did speak to a rep to address my concerns they told me I had to pay around $17,000 plus an exit fee and then tried to push me into a resale program. They can’t be serious! This entire experience has been disorganized and a headache. They do not care about your life circumstances, and they do not care if you can actually afford it. If you are thinking about going to one of their presentations for an incentive…don’t. Run the other way!!!

We already reached out to the Better Business Bureau hoping someone would finally listen to our situation, but all we got was another vague conversation that left us with more questions than answers. We are just looking for a way out. Our life has changed completely, and we aren't in a position to use this timeshare anymore. When we finally got someone on the phone after involving the BBB, the only “answer” we received was that we could just stop making payments and that a collection agency would eventually send us cancellation paperwork. That is it. There was no timeline, no specific information, and no assurance that this would actually be resolved. It feels like we are being told to default and ruin our credit while the stress of collections hangs over us. We aren’t looking for special treatment, just a real, honest, and direct exit strategy so we can move on. Advising us to default and wait for a third-party collection agency to handle your cancellation process is not a solution. It’s an unsafe, irresponsible suggestion that just creates more financial anxiety for a family that has already been through enough. Please contact us directly and provide a clear, legitimate path to cancel our contract.

We started our journey with Bluegreen Vacations back in January 2018 based on promises that were never kept. We were told we would easily get access to Gulf beaches like Panama City and Alabama, but those locations are simply never available. The sample rooms they showed us during the sales presentation were completely fake compared to the actual rooms we received. When we complained, we were pressured to upgrade for better access, which turned out to be another lie. Our maintenance fees have skyrocketed to the point where we have to rely on tax returns or credit cards just to stay current. Even after we fully paid off the timeshare, customer service provided zero assistance, and a representative named Christie was no help at all. On top of that, they required the cancellation fee that suddenly jumped from $2,000 to $5,300. Out of pure frustration, I completely stopped paying maintenance fees in 2022. Please avoid this company at all costs.

Horrible company. Not trustworthy and a waste of time and money. Purposely purchased a timeshare incentive for a distinct location in a drivable area. A few months later they pulled that location from the offering. Was on the phone for hours between multiple days. Refused to give me my total money back because I wasn’t able to fly across the country. Didn’t try to accommodate anything. And I’m still waiting for my reimbursement, it’s been several weeks. Don’t do business with Bluegreen Vacations.

Their sales force is awful. They call multiple times a day and I tell them I am not interested. I asked to be taken off their list and they are rude. I wouldn't buy anything from this company. PLEASE STOP CALLING ME!!!
