Bluegreen gave us false hope from the start just to pressure us into signing on the spot. They promised easy travel and hassle-free booking, but we are stuck with sky-high maintenance fees and a system where it is nearly impossible to actually reserve a stay. We are facing severe financial hardship, and their only "advice" to us was to take out another loan to cover the costs. When we tried to cancel, they gave us the total runaround. They explicitly told us to stop paying so a cancellation would be triggered, but then sent our account to collections even though our balance was paid off. When we spoke to Keisha, she told us the process takes 120 days and that we were close to being done, yet we still have zero written proof or confirmation of cancellation. They have offered no buyouts and no real help, only constant, aggressive phone calls demanding more money. We do not want any more excuses, delays, or alternative options! We want this contract terminated immediately.

We spent a ton of money on Bluegreen expecting amazing family vacations, but the reality was nothing like that. We were constantly pressured into high-stress meetings and pushed to buy upgrades. They kept promising us better booking options, but did they happen? Nope! On top of that, our maintenance fees were supposed to stay stable, but they just kept going up without any warning. Our disappointment didn’t end there. Some properties were in rough shape and lacked basic accessible features that made it very, very difficult for us with severe knee issues and limited mobility. Dealing with stairs is extremely hard. Bluegreen misled us so many times! We had such awful experiences that we need to end our contracts. A totally rude representative told us it would cost over $20,000 just as an exit fee on top of the excessive maintenance fee. Completely unaffordable, and it honestly feels like another cash grab. This whole ownership has put a massive financial burden on our family and caused endless stress. With all the false claims during the sales presentation and the total lack of flexibility, we know leaving is the right call. Nobody ever told us this was a lifelong commitment, and the whole approach felt completely dishonest. After giving Bluegreen Vacations so much money already, we really feel scammed. Demanding another $20,000+ just to cancel is completely unfair. Save yourselves and don’t get tangled up with Bluegreen!

I agreed to listen to the sales pitch with Choice Hotels. The salesman would not take no as an answer so I finally agreed to a vacation for 4 to the smokey mountains that would give me a gift card for the full amount when I attended a sales seminar. When I got the receipt it showed 2 adults and 2 children. I got busy at work and was unable to call the back for about 6 weeks. They called me wanting to book a date and I explained that I was told that this was a resort stay and not a hotel room with 2 beds. They offered me an upgrade for another $283.00 and they would give me a gift card for $50. They will not give me a refund either. I told them to cancel. I guess I am out $250.00 because a salesman misrepresented what he was selling. This is exactly why I won't stop at vacation club booths at trade and home shows. They are all a scam and this one is one of the worst I have encountered. I think I may stop using choice hotels as well.

We are writing this review to share our terrible experience with Bluegreen Vacations and warn others. We first purchased our timeshare back in July 2020 after accepting a 249 dollar discounted vacation package that required us to sit through a 2-hour sales presentation. We initially bought a trial package, but we could not use it because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Later, during a trip to Savannah, sales representatives pushed us to upgrade to a full points package and presented it as a valuable investment. That proved to be completely misleading. Bluegreen failed to disclose that we would be burdened with massive, unexpected annual maintenance fees of 1500 dollars. On top of that, we have not been able to take a single vacation. Bluegreen told us that booking would be easy if we just called their representatives, but that was completely false. The product is entirely unusable. We have tried our best to handle this directly with Bluegreen to cancel because the high costs are impossible for us to keep up with, especially while facing health and financial hardships. However, Bluegreen makes it nearly impossible to resolve anything. We sent a letter respectfully asking to cancel, and we tried to talk to them on the phone, but they make it very difficult to connect with anybody. Recently, we tried to contact a resolutions rep named Erica. We explained that we cannot take personal calls while at work, and we gave her very specific times to call us back. She completely ignored our schedule, called while we were working, and left a voicemail. In her message, she claimed it was her final call and said that since she could not reach us, our case was now fully closed. She told us we would have to call their main 1-800 number just to start a brand new case from scratch. Bluegreen is purposely dodging us and closing our cases instead of helping. We are trapped in an endless cycle with a company that misled us, sold us an unusable product, and now dodges us while we suffer hardships.

Bluegreen Vacations = Lies! It is very misleading and a poor investment. The sales pitch promised me easy booking and frequent vacations with 10,000 points, but this proved false. Even after I bought 5,000 more points, reservations were rarely available where I wanted them. When I was lucky enough to reserva a location, they always high-pressured us into a review meeting where they tried to sell me more points. The company pushed me to buy significantly more points (up to 35,000 more for over $141,000) to be able to book further out, but I doubt this will solve the availability problem. Also, it’s crazy that I needed to book years in advance, still with no guarantee of availability. There seemed to be a constant issue with not having enough points, no matter how much more I bought. My maintenance fees have been increasing (from $1,800 to $2,039), and I was paying for a property I could not use. It’s just so wild! Bluegreen’s contract = lifetime contract! Beware of this! They literally tell their clients that this is for life! After all the issues, I wanted to cancel my ownership. I wanted to stop paying for my mortgage since it’s ridiculous to pay for something I was tricked to buy and do not want to keep, but I do not want to hurt my credit score, so I’ve been continuing payment. Bluegreen will not let me out. I have approached them multiple times but their answer is NO. This is beyond frustrating! The only option they would let me out is if I pay off all my mortgage loan & additional 2 years worth of maintenance fees (over $4000). This is beyond frustrating! I have to pay that much for returning the property back to them? Go figure! I have no means to come up with that money. They don’t care. They just want my money, just like all the other times. I need to end doing any business with them. What a curse!

Getting a canned response from Nikkie Evans was the last straw. Bluegreen shut us down instead of addressing how we were lied to. Someone claiming to represent them even asked to meet in an Embassy Suites lobby to discuss cancelling, which felt super shady. Between $8,000 yearly maintenance fees and $350 monthly mortgage costs, this is ruining our ability to pay for our daughter's college. Their only answers are extra fees, Pinnacle, or tanking our credit in collections. We just want a real way out.

Tried to schedule a trip from promotion and they wanted to run my credit or refund cost of trip. Credit was never mentioned during the sale and made feel like I was being penalized for their error. Ask the right questions or get the wrong answers later

We were offered an "all expenses paid" 3 day stay at the Fountains in Orlando from Bluegreen Vacations for them to try to sell us a more expensive timeshare. I was never told that we were going to be charged "marketing taxes" for our stay. I was informed that this trip was zero cost to me after we purchased a timeshare from Bluegreen Vacations other than the $100 incidental deposit. I was specifically told there would be no out of pocket expenses for this trip. These timeshare companies continue to charge people for these unheard of hidden charges. I have never heard of a marketing tax nor was I informed there would be one. I have had nothing but poor customer service from this company all within 6 months of getting scammed. This company is deceptive and dishonest, STAY AWAY!!!!!
