I had very high hopes and expectations when I joined BistroMD, however even though I was able to choose my meals from their selection by and large the food is intolerable. I think the cost is prohibitive at almost $1000 per month. Every time I signed in a chat box popped up and if I did engage I honestly think it was automated not a real person...All in all not a great experience and on top of all of that I didn't lose any weight.

Just Sad - Could Happen to Anyone
I was really upset after using this diet system. I never insult programs and I've used some bad stuff. But I thought I was paying the extra money for something amazing and clean and I'm worth it so I carved out the funds. That's never a problem. But man do I regret this purchase. What caused my issue is that before you can even try your first weeks food, you are charged for your second and it's shipped. So I went through a reaction to whey crammed in everything because you can test nothing before pouring at least your first two weeks of purchases in; plus I'm out just over $610 that I couldn't avoid because of the way you get locked into the sale.
I only needed to lose 6 pounds. I usually clean eat and do Revolution and I can easily lose 15 in a month. I'm thin. I'm fit. I thought this was clean food. I was really excited when training for a CFO position and lacking the time to obsessively cook clean, being able to get the meals and the snacks I needed and dive into my career. I could not have been more excited. I found out after a couple of weeks of sporadic pain and massive bloating that everything is packed full of whey protein. Tons of people have reactions to this stuff plus it can add odd consistencies to food and make it more bland.
I realized right away it was in the snacks when I would feel terrible after eating the ones from BistroMD. I looked at the snacks and immediately whey protein isolate and concentrate caught my eye. I stopped eating the snacks and thought it would be okay. I had a feeling that the meals were causing the same issue because I've been feeling terrible for weeks. But I kept thinking that there was no way and that it was from the snacks having irritated my stomach or my new jeans.
Today I was eating the clam chowder and hadn't eaten the meals in two days and my stomach started killing me. I looked at the ingredients and whey protein concentrate was in the clam chowder. I guess it was silly of me but I trusted with all of the reviews from people and shows I kind of trust that the food was just good clean food. Good clean food doesn't need additives. It's just so nuts. You don't have to put extra stuff in food. It's balanced. Just eat fruit and vegetables and the right type and amounts of carbs and meats and you're good to go.
So what's happened to me is I'm on a prescription strength Tums until my stomach straightens out. I had to leave work today because I was in such pain. I have gained 5 pounds. Now I'm really upset. I don't gain weight like this and I wish I had spent the money on what I know. I should have cooked at night and prepped on weekends for my work week. I shouldn't have splurged and waited for this. Now I still have $200 worth of stuff I can't use in my freezer. I can't donate it anywhere. I feel terrible as a person knowing that I'm going to have to throw this away when there are starving people. It's just made me upset in more ways than I could have thought.
And this isn't even diving into the taste of food. If I don't choose a low sodium diet, don't go generic and make everything low sodium because you want to use one recipe for all of your plans. I'm not older, I don't have sodium issues and I'm not diabetic. I shouldn't have to eat that way. Why make plans if they are all the same. I don't even cook with salt and this stuff was oddly bland. I've grilled corn and it always tastes sweet and vibrant with great crunch. This stuff was off. I've never had good natural vegetables that lacked there own flavor before. All around snack and meal after snack and meal I was let down.
And that's all I can say about this. People should know. Give out a free bag of the chips or something. You'll know within 2 hours if you should avoid the food. Be more responsible and figure out something to let people get there first week of food and try it. The lock in is ridiculous.

Bistro MD works
The menopause plan work for ladies experiencing difficulties losing weight because of this awful change of life. I have lost weight and work out with weights since it my preferred method of exercise. I feel toned and I have been told I look fabulous for 54 years old, nice to hear at this age. The food is exceptional and I love when they add new entree's to the menu. My only feedback is to have my profile updated to reflect my plan that was chosen and to allow customer service in the chat box to assist immediately vs. having to send a separate email to them if you have questions or want to update any of your food options.

Very Convenient Good Meals
Nice meals and frequently add new meals.

Uneven but some highlights.
There needs to be more choices especially considering price. The green beans inevitably suffer because the other part of dish requires more cooking so most times it is inedible. Would love to be able to use oven to cook like most frozen food brands.

Good company, needs work
Very helpful people, no complaints at all in dealing with the staff of bistroMD. However the food flavor and packaging were not always up to the quality that they advertise. Don't get me wrong, there were some favorites that I enjoyed very much. But there were times when I tasted an entrée I thought " What the heck was the chef thinking when they created this dish????" or "What kind of manufacturer did they get to mass produce this meal?"

Would not recommend
I had three weeks of bistroMD, and I had problems with two of them. I've ordered from other food delivery services, and this is insanely expensive for what it is. I know how to eat healthy - I just simply didn't want to cook all the time, so I decided to give it a shot. First of all, their packaging is EXTREMELY wasteful. The cardboard box contained a styrofoam cooler, which contained bubblewrap & dry ice. The second week, there was food scattered throughout the cooler when I opened it - one entree's corner was cracked, which I attribute to the dry ice, as this is much too cold to be shipping plastic food containers with (-109 deg F). The third week, there was rice scattered throughout the cooler - another entree was open & had spilled everywhere, which was attributed to the "self-venting" technology, which is just not sealing it all the way. I decided to take pictures & email customer service. They agreed to refund my card for the two entrees I threw out (the same entree both times), and put a credit on my account for two entrees on my next shipment. They also assured me that the cracked entree wasn't their fault, but FedEx's, because they couldn't control how they handled the packaged once they shipped it. If it was FedEx's fault, all of the entrees would've been cracked & spilled - not just the corner of one that was cracked because it was exposed to temperatures too cold. I decided to go ahead and cancel my account, because if they blame faults on shipping, then why am I even paying for it? Other food delivery services don't charge you shipping, and they use sustainable/recyclable materials... And not dry ice. I can afford the price, but I'm also not apt to just throw my money away.
I would not recommend. Educate yourself & learn how to cook. All they're doing is macronutrient ratios, which you can calculate yourself. They also offer zero vegetarian options, which is frustrating.

Excellent Product Review
I love this program for a lot of reasons. The food, the delivery, the convenience, the choices, and the results. Unfortunately for me, I can not afford it. $150- 220 a week is way over my budget, But I would recommend it to anyone that can afford it!
