I really enjoyed almost all the food options. They were tasty and very filling. The snacks were blah but that's how protein packed snacks are. If you are committed to losing weight, this is definitely a good choice. A lot of good options.

I'm docking 1 star because I think the website could be better (switching meals out), but other than that, I'm happy. The food is much better than the typical diet frozen food at the grocery store, and I've immediately reached customer service reps both times I've called to ask questions. The 2nd time I spoke to Emily, who was pleasant and helpful (I had been curious as to why I didn't see a lot of the same snack choices I had before, and she explained that they are changing some of the packaging, but it will all be back up in 3 days). The food keeps me full and it is high quality. There have been some duds, but it's easy to remove them. The convenience and quality, imo, is worth the price.

The service itself is good. Solid meals that pretty good. Low sodium, low fat, and low calories compared to others like factor 75. However, the shipping doesn't work for individuals like me who are very busy and have to plan to be home and put the meals in the freezer. The shipping gives a range if 4 days and the first two shipments were arriving on Saturday. Not sure if that's because I'm on east cost and they are shipping from Indiana. They did a good job getting it here frozen and the food did taste well. If I could schedule a specific day every week it should arrive, then I would keep it. With such a range and sat deliveries it just doesn't work for me.

This is not a meal kit, so comparing it to Hello Fresh or other meal kits is like saying "I don't like this hospital because it isn't an amusement park." You need to compare it to similar items. I've done Jenny Craig, NutriSystem, and South Beach, and this food is vastly better. It's also way healthier - it has real ingredients, not soy isolates and cellulose. And if you don't like the meals they're sending you, you can go on the website and change which meals you're getting. There are over 150 to choose from, and they cover every style - African, Louisiana, French, Mexican, Italian, BBQ, vegan, you name it. I also saw a review that said someone couldn't track their current order. Not true. After the window of time for customizing closes, there's a link you can click to track your package. That being said, the website is clunky, they are currently unable to source recyclable insulation so are using plastic-enclosed styrofoam, and so far whenever I've had their eggplant it has been horrific. (Note to chefs: Eggplant needs to be THOROUGHLY cooked, or it's nasty.) But in terms of a healthy, convenient, mostly tasty meal service that will help me lose weight and provide a lot of variety in meals, it beats anything else I've found.

There is some confusion here, with what BistroMD actually is! You guys... this is a company that takes good food and makes a meal for people trying to eat better, lose weight, or are using a specific diet for diabetes etc. It is not a meal kit, where you make a dinner out of ingredients. Yes, some of the food is not laden with salt and fat, and therefore has no relation to restaurant food, or something you might make yourself. It is a very convenient service, to get frozen meals, that you can season yourself, and there is no cooking, dishes to clean up, and best of all... you lose weight, and you are full and satisfied. So far I like these people, and most of the food they send me. Their customer service is also consistently good!

Delivery was timely, and the diet did help me to loose weight, unfortunately I was not particularly fond of some of the foods that were sent over, as it was a bit underwhelming. Coming from a culture that uses a lot of different spice, it was a bit hard to adjust to the type of foods I was receiving, but it helped me a lot with understanding portion control, and the different nutrients I needed to complete the diet portion of my health journey. First, the positives. The food is tasty and in the universe of pre-prepared foods, it's healthy. Portions are a bit small, but overall, it's a good tool for weight loss or just eating healthier. Saves you time shopping & cooking too. Their customer service is quick and responsive and if you want to cancel or put your membership on hold, it's easily done with no hassle. They also have health coaches and share helpful content with members, like healthy recipes. Now the negatives. In terms of operations, there's room for improvement. Substitutions are common, meaning you don't always get the meal(s) you requested in a given week, and the delivery estimate ranges from 2-6? days or so. It makes it hard to stick to a schedule. Hopefully, this is just growing pains.

I met my weight loss goals within 12 weeks. The food was satisfying and filling. I only criticize for fulfillment issues on order glitches - perhaps understandable during COVID.
