Awful. Just awful. I entered my current weight (245) and my goal (235) and they sent me meals around 350 calories each. I’m 6’5” and an athlete, there’s zero area to choose meals that are higher in calories, and the FOOD IS AWFUL. Watery, tasteless…I could go on and on. Save your money and go to Cook Unity or anyone other than this terrible company.

My last 3 orders were totally thawed upon arrival. I opened the box within an hour of delivery and each time the food was room temperature. I called and complained, but it did no good. They took down the information, but I continue to receive room temperature food, which I have to unpack and deal with environmentally. I was a happy BistroMD customer for a number of years. But when the company moved to NJ, everything fell apart. I was willing to put up with untold problems with their web site. I even put up with stray plastic pieces being in the food. I'm not willing to put up with spoiled food. I'm writing to warn people to stay away from BistroMD. It's toxic! They clearly will not address any problem that you have. They appear to have problems at every level of the business. It's too bad, because it was a good company. But I guess that's capitalism. Companies get bought out and the product becomes rotten in the name of profits.

The food was awful. I tried 5 of the dishes--watery, chicken that did not look like chicken nor did it taste like chicken. The side of sweet potatoes were not fully cooked. I would NEVER recommend this service to anyone.

I am enjoying BistroMD. I can choose the kind of diet that I want: gluten free, heart healthy, etc. Entrees and snacks are nutritionally balanced, fiber-forward, and come from many different cuisines. Mostly, my deliveries have been fine. I think that the company has been struggling with recent tariffs to keep prices in line, so, packaging changes. The only time I had a true disaster on the delivery front, my next delivery was free. And, I'm losing weight without feeling deprived. For me, they have been a real win!

I received my first order. It was supposed to be a meal plan for 2 and they charged me accordingly. They only sent meals for one.

I had a very disappointing experience with BistroMD on both the customer service and product fronts. I was never properly notified that I needed to select my meals before being charged. My account was charged automatically, and when I immediately contacted customer service to stop the shipment, they refused — even though the order was still several days away from shipping. Because I never had the opportunity to choose my meals, I ended up receiving 10 meals I would never have selected myself. The food itself was also underwhelming. Many of the vegetables were mushy, and overall the meals were mediocre at best. What made the situation even worse was the poor customer service. Support was difficult to reach, unhelpful, and showed very little willingness to resolve the issue. Once they had the payment, there seemed to be no concern about customer satisfaction. There are many other meal delivery services that cost less, offer higher-quality meals, and provide far better customer service. Based on my experience, I would not recommend BistroMD.

I decided to give this service a try because of the great introductory offer, BEFORE reading the reviews here. After the fact I did some investigation into this service. Turns out it was acquired by Marley Spoon/Martha Stewart (MMS Brands) in 2024, which also has their own food delivery kit service. That service includes offerings of pre-made frozen meals called "Balance". The "Balance" meals offered on Marley Spoon are indeed these exact BistroMD meals. I had tried a few of them from Marley Spoon in the past and was disappointed at how horrible they were and surprised that MMS Brands would put their good name to such garbage. Literally 9 meals went into the trash. Once I figured it out I immediately canceled my BistroMD order. My customer service experience was quite different from what has been reported here. Someone answered very quickly, canceled my first order, and then canceled my subscription without question. I checked my credit card site and indeed, the credit was already pending. Taking further advice from previous reviews here, I did then cancel my credit card and requested a new one so no further charges would go through on that card, just in case. Kind of annoying but worth it to avoid the hassle some have experienced. So the 3 stars is for customer service only. The food, quality and taste, gets less than one star, as experienced on my Marley Spoon orders.

I have tried several food delivery services. This is by far the WORST. When you skip a week they charge you and it comes anyway...SOMETIMES 2 DAYS LATE AND MELTED. Which they don't refund you for... When you choose what you want, you may get half of those choices and several things that no one else wants. NOT MY CHOICES! I cancelled 2 months ago. They are still charging and sending their barely eatable meals. I had to cancel the credit card and remove it from the site. Hopefully the STOP NOW! My dog wouldn't even eat the roast beef, but she chewed it for an hour or so like a bully bone. Factor or Cook unity are better choices.
