BetterHelp has made counseling something that fits into my life. I love that I can always check-in with my counselor by sending a message when it works for me, and always get thoughtful and helpful responses. I needed a safe place to process and grow, and my counselor has certainly provided that. Because I pay for a period of time, not per session, the pressure is off to ‘make the most’ of a timed session. It might not be right for me forever, but BetterHelp fits into my life and gives me access to support I needed but didn’t have access to.

Whether it's video, voice, or text...there's something for everyone here. Change counselors as many times as you want until you find the right one for you!

As someone who lives in Europe who had BetterHelp advertised to them on Facebook, I assumed that the therapists I would be speaking to would also be in my region and with qualifications from Europe. I was wrong. My therapist is based in the US and is a good few hours behind me which means my sessions are evening to late evening. Other than that, the counselor I was matched to has been amazing and supportive, and honestly, I feel like I'm very lucky to speak to them! I am actually originally from the US myself so it helps to speak to someone from my home country on issues I had growing up there. However, I can see speaking to an American being an issue for Europeans using this service and would like it if BetterHelp was a bit more transparent or also gained access to the European market with European therapists.

This was my first time experiencing therapy. I was nervous about it at first but BetterHelp turned out to be such a great resource. I didn't have the money to pay for therapy through my insurance and BetterHelp also offered me a discounted price based on my income level. This right off the bat was really nice. My counselor was matched with me based on my answers to the quiz you first take when you sign up and she was a great fit! She definitely had the skills needed to help me. I am very happy that I decided to get help at BetterHelp.

Better Help is such a great platform. Everything has been so easy. I like the fact that they let you do a test video before seeing your counselor. It helps getting out all the technical difficulties out of the way. I also feel like my counselor was a perfect match. I have established some goals that I working towards. It feels great to be able to just let it all out and work through whatever you are going through. I definitely recommend Better Help!

I’ve tried a couple of BetterHelp therapists and while the therapists have always been lovely, the time difference made it worthless. If you’re not in America, you’re lucky to get more than one (often short) message a day, and that really doesn’t allow you to work through your problems. However, BetterHelp gave me a full refund when I realised the time difference was too much of an issue, so I can’t fault their customer service.
