Wasted my time with a faulty quote that wasn't honored. Then offered 3-4x the price to start the exact same quoted policy. Awful experience. Do not even phone to begin with and save yourself some time!

What started as a great experience turned into a huge disappointment! I was initially very happy with belairdirect. Reasonable pricing, excellent customer service, and everything seemed almost too good to be true. Unfortunately, that's exactly how it turned out. My original agreement was to insure one vehicle and enrol in their automerit program. I want to emphasize that I was provided with a quote BEFORE agreeing to the program. After researching automerit, I had concerns about how accurately the app distinguishes between genuinely aggressive driving and defensive manoeuvres. For example, if I have to brake suddenly to avoid an accident or someone rear-ends me, how does the app determine fault? I decided the potential hassle wasn't worth it. I later called to make changes to my policy, including adding another vehicle and reducing coverage to liability only. During that conversation, I was assured of what my new monthly premium would be. Fast-forward, and I discover my insurance has increased by approximately $30 per month! When I contacted customer service through their online chat, I was told the increase was because I hadn't registered for automerit and had therefore lost the discount. Apparently, I had also been "reminded" several times. Interestingly, what they consider reminders appeared to me as promotional advertisements rather than clear warnings that my insurance premium would increase. What bothered me just as much was the attitude during the chat. The representative repeatedly referred to their records and what had supposedly been discussed, as though my recollection of the conversations was completely irrelevant. The responses came so quickly, with lengthy paragraphs, that it felt more like I was receiving prepared rebuttals than having an actual conversation. I felt dismissed, talked down to, and frankly, gaslit. Rather than genuinely addressing my concerns about what I had been quoted and assured, the focus seemed to be on defending the company's position. I understand that discounts can have conditions. What I don't appreciate is being given a monthly rate, relying on that information, and later discovering an increase without what I consider adequate communication. It's disappointing because I genuinely liked this company when I first signed up. Unfortunately, this experience has completely changed my opinion. I'll definitely be shopping around for another insurance provider. Reasonable pricing means very little when you can't trust that what you're told is what you'll actually be paying.

Very disappointing experience. The adjuster approved the claim of water damage and sent her nominated contractor to damage my property only. The contractor left the site after he was told by the adjuster of denial of the claim for the reasons best known to her.The contractor left the site leaving the property in a damaged position only and I had to get it repaired at my cost.Instead of covering my cost the adjuster asked the contractor to come after me for the cost incurred in damaging my property.I tried reaching out to the higher up but all of them behaved the same way.Very poor service and attitude of the staff

The worst insurance company I have ever dealt with. I’m so sorry for myself

I called Belair Direct this morning merely to update my address change. Upon giving my new address which is less than five kilometres from my previous address, I have been notified that my insurance is going to increase an additional twenty- three dollars monthly. This is entirely unacceptable. I spoke with a supervisor and he, too, reiterated how Belair Direct appreciates my loyal business. It should be noted that I have a five star driving rating, no accidents or tickets, yet my car insurance is now going to increase. I notified Belair Direct that their loyal customer will be changing to an alternate car insurance company and to note that I will not be renewing with Belair Direct in the coming months. I woke up happy this morning and Belair Direct has ruined my day and tarnished the image I had of their car insurance company. If I could rate Belair Direct with zero stars, I would, yet this review board does not allow a rating below one star. Most dissatisfied customer. A. Roz

I had the worst experience with this insurance company belairdirect every time I call them. They would just say I’ll be looking for adjuster We’re looking for a adjuster I recommend no one go to this insurance company. This is the worst experience I it’s been almost like a month. I have no card they would not give me an it’s been almost like a month. They would not even call me and explain what is going on. Insurance might be a little cheap, but the service is garbage.

Very frustrating experience with Belairdirect. There is almost zero communication from the adjuster, and you’re left not knowing what is happening between the insurance company and the lease/finance company. The claim processing is extremely delayed, and even cancellation refunds take two weeks or more, while they can take money from your debit account instantly. Overall, very poor communication, slow processing, and a very frustrating experience.
