I have years of experience with this bank, and I can honestly say the issues come from leadership! Their agenda is motivated by woke culture which focuses on a certain demographic of people at the exclusion of other marginalized communities. During the new CEO live introduction at the Seattle Convention Center, the CEO introduced her preference for her own people including BIPOC/LGBTQ while overlooking other significant marginalized and oppressed groups of people. She does this by showing only these groups in her examples, showcases, and discussions! She also gave direct orders that these communities will be promoted, and white people are and will no longer be promoted for advancement. She also focuses on white privilege without the consideration that there are many white people who are part of the marginalized, oppressed, and underserved population. In fact, there are countless white people who are homeless, struggle getting a job, never get promoted, and have disabilities that affect them from being promoted, hired, and treated fairly in the workplace. Her agenda to be inclusive only includes certain groups which is the opposite of inclusiveness and is discrimination. In other words, it's all about her! They also hire managers and leads that are abusive, micro managers that terrorize their employees by threatening write ups if they don't sell enough loans. The turnover rate for member consultants is high with many opting to attain a new career or move into different positions. It's common to see biases as they hire husbands, Wifes, children, and all family members giving them an upper hand in the workplace. The consultants treat the members well but if you watch their expressions, you can see they are being deceitful and dishonest. The priority is loans, as this is what makes BECU the most money! They truly don't care about anyone but their agenda. The CEO practices active discrimination and encourages others to participate in her woke ideology! There are other credit unions that offer the same benefits without the exclusiveness, racism, discrimination, dishonesty, abuse, and deceitfulness.

What is up with all of these less than average ratings form unsatisfied customers of BECU? In my honest opinion and seeing as how I have been a loyal customer with BECU for over 10 years, I’ve had nothing but great things to say about this company! They’ve always helped me with questions that boggled my mind, to small minuscule questions that seem so simple, that I could have even answered myself. They’ve even refunded me back a few thousand dollars when I got duped from a big company in Chicago! 5 stars all around for BECU! My family, friends and myself have nothing but outstanding things to say about the way employees at BECU handle us and our quirky ways as loyal customers! Thanks a bunch BECU!

Apparently can't give negative or no stars. This CU is the WORST! I can actually say this cuz my dad was the president of a CU for 30 years! If you are perfect then it's great - however if your X-husband files bankruptcy or your dad has alzhimers and needs to get moms name on financial stuff - then you are screwed! They got me to pay $2,400 for what they made me think was the HELOC which not missed a pmt - nope it was for something that was written off by my x's bankruptcy but my name was on. My current "bank" said that is unethical and they should be ashamed! My 20 year old son can't pay or withdrawl anything over a certain amt cuz there is a glitch and they still show he has a kids act. Still hasn't fixed that. It's been 2 years! And a date? Try every day for the last 10 years!

BECU has always been very helpful to our family. Their online banking is superior to my friends’ online banking experience, and many have switched over to them. I’ve had a home equity loan for improvements through BECU and it was managed with expertise and great care. Those in the BECU office are always so pleasant and helpful. Kudos to BECU!

have been a customer since the early nineties but the customer service seems to get worse with each passing year. Specifically, - shutting down online account and debit card for unexplained reason while I was in remote area. Fortunately had some cash on hand to get me back home. - using ssn, mother's maiden name, birth date when all this data now resides on dark web because of recent National Public Data, data breach according to my account with Experian. no two factor authentication. - checking account being debited without my authorization or knowledge. - can't send an email to becu from online account any longer. - sent me encrypted message for ATM dispute which I could not open because passcode kept changing. forwarded to tech support where I was parked on hold until I finally gave up. The above is just a sample of BECU's awful customer service. Will be doing business with another C.U. soon. Can't take it anymore. -

Debit card cut off over the weekend. No notification, no email, no warning no text no nothing. Left me stranded with no money and needing gas. No customer service reps on the weekend so no money till Monday. They claim they can cut anybody's card off at any time for no reason and no immediate notifications need to go out. Terrible customer service. There was over 5000.00 dollars in the account. Buyer beware.

Had a horrible experience. Please beware that BECU will charge you a late fee without telling you that there is a balance due. And then only notification more than a month later that you are now overdue with the late fee What a scam to make money off it's loyal members Here is the history... Got a notification from BECU on Oct 26 bring charged a bank fee flow $24.75 which was a surprised and not expected. I dug into it and discovered the following 1) My line of credit incurred a balance of $3k on Sept 3rd. Which i was notified 2) I paid off the full balance on Sept 4th. With Line of Credit showing a balance of zero since then 3) BECU apparently charged an interest of $0.75 from the 1 day of overdraft 4) However, the Line of Credit does NOT show the $0.75 for its balance; but still show $0 balance 5) I have received NO notification of this interest charge 6) Then BECU charged me a late fee of $24.75 and notification alert was shown on Oct 26, more than 1.5 months after thr original overdraft on Sept 3rd!!! When I contacted BECU, the Rep said the fee is due me not paying the $0.75 even though they did not notification until it was overdue AND I had no way of knowing I owe the $0.75. I then had to request a waiver for the late fee, which they finally did. But it took a lot of effort on my part, especially when the Rep did not accept the problem with the BECU process I politely then asked the Rep to please ask their IT folks to fix this bug in their software so it will show the correct balance, any interest owed, and notification of balance Due. The Rep just offered to transfer me to their IT Department. I have been a BECU member since 1983 but I will switch to another bank in 2025....

Awful Credit Union! Do not bank with them! Slow slow slow! The budgets and account features are useless. The app is not intuitive at all. Avoid becu! Take your money elsewhere!
