I never commented on any company before. The word 'terrible' is not descriptive for this company. If there is a negative star I would give them negative five stars. Their customer service is disrespectful: they hold the wire transfer I made because they are doing an investigation for a month. They call you and ask you security questions over the phone, like the same question they ask you in the office so I felt insecure sharing information if I was being scammed on the phone but they think that's suspicious. Because I'm not providing enough detail on my personal reason why i do wire they decided to hold my money. If they were organized and clear everything can be asked while I was in the office, which they did already. I don't feel valued and respected in this company. I stopped the wire and took out the money and used my other banks to wire it for me. Please be nice and do the job right to keep your customers in your circle.

My family has used BECU for years and we love them. They have been great for the past 16+ years I have been using them. Reasonable rates, customer focused, easy to use, and trustworthy.

I'm bewildered as to why BECU's rating is so low. I've never had anything but positive experiences with them. I have Checking, Business Checking, Savings, Money Market accounts as well as two car loans and a personal loan and Visa card, all of which were simple, easy, straightforward to get and qualify for. I've referred people there, who've benefited from $100 credit (though it does take a very, very long time to see). Customer service in branches has always been exceptional, phone service has been less of a great experience and hopefully they are addressing this issue.

If there’s a half star rating for this credit union, that’s what they deserve. WORST service ever and they mostly work remotely from home so their customer service is totally zero!! They have a nerve to continue charging me for their so-called voluntary protection on the credit card that they unexpectedly suspended. Never default and always paid on on time. HTF are you charging me $10 per month for the last 12 years and still continue charging me now? I want all my money back. It’s a SCAM!!

What used to be a great, community credit union where they treated you like a person rather than a number has turned into a cold, impersonal, draconian institution who is full of employees “just doing their job“, with longer and longer wait times, and condescending, uninformed, and even disrespectful employees. After 15 years with BECU I will be closing my account and going somewhere else.

They use a third party to verify insurance for auto loans, which I have never had to do with any previous lender. Regardless of that I have verified it multiple times and the BECU still has not received the information and will not take it unless it goes through the third party. Meanwhile BECU is threatening to add an additional $6k to my loan for not providing my insurance information.

Customer service has gone down over the years. I am a loyal customer with several accounts. Things like shutting off all my main bank account without letting me know (freezing my accounts) have become the norm. Calling their phone number results in long wait times and I think they're experimenting with outsourcing. Not to mention large overdraft fees. Sorry lost a customer. Too little too late.

I had issues with this bank every time I tried to send money. Zelle didn't work and put a hold on my profile. Had to stay on hold with customer service to remove it. Wire transfers take a day and you have to call, you can't do it online. More than 1 hour wait each time. Moving money from my account at BECU to my other bank account at another bank also got me an immediate hold on my profile for absolutely no good reason. Another 1 hour wait + with customer service to get it done.
