I am absolutely disgusted by this sorry excuse of a “company”. My fiancé and I asked for a panther chameleon, when she arrived we both knew something was wrong. She arrived in a small cardboard box with some newspaper in it, with an ice pack. The poor girl was in so much stress. She was so thin, refused to eat and to move. She looked like she went through hell. Several days later, no change at all. NEVER order from this sorry excuse of a company.

I ordered two ambilobe panther chameleons just a week ago and it was a first time buying through backwater reptiles. I paid 500$ for a female and male for future breeding projects/pets and they came in poor conditions. The male either had something in his eye or had an eye infection. The female looks like she has bruiseing on the end of her tail as if some yanked her from her perch as the end of her tail was in mesh or something of the sort. Plus both seemed to have kinda sunken eyes but not as bad as full blown dehydration that ive seen from pictures. I nursed them back to health. Thank god. Backwater reptiles you guys suck. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. If you get a hurt/potentially sick animal and do not know what your doing then you risk losing money and getting a broken heart for these animals. I hope someone shuts them down. I will post photos if necessary.

Only reason for one star is i can't leave no stars my ball python arrived skinny lying on the bottom of the plastic container cold and not moving the container was wrapped in newspapers in a Styrofoam lined box but with no heat pad she was very cold i have many snakes and other exotic pets and this is by far the worse experience i have had with a online seller of exotic pets don't waist your time go to xyz reptile you wont be disappointed

I purchased a tarantula and cage from this company for a birthday gift. Despite being available online, the one I picked out was then stated not available. I chose another type and the order was shipped. Or so I thought. The spider came (DEAD ON ARRIVAL) and no cage. I was assured that it was probably molting and to be patient. I waited and waited and waited some more. Sent in necessary pictures and was told to continue to wait. The spider eventually started shriveling up and I provided more pictures and I am still waiting. They will not respond to my emails and have accused me of not telling them in a timely manner despite my trail of emails I have. It has been 14 days and I still have NO CAGE! Their company is a joke and a fraud. They owe me $187 and I don't know if I will ever get it back. Deplorable.

I just received my Savanna Monitor in the mail this morning. Opened the box and thought he was dead he wasn’t moving and was freezing. No heat pack anywhere. Put him in his enclosure and he’s just now starting to move around and explore. He spent about 20 minutes drinking so I don’t know if he was thirsty because of the stress of the shipping or Backwater didn’t provide them with water. Has some stuck shed but nothing bad. He was way smaller then I expected, only looks a couple days old. Just mad about how cold he was, now just hoping he pulls through.

I just order a snake from them yesterday I’ll be back in touch with u guys and let you know shortly my review on this company promise to be honest.

My frog died 3 days after it arrived. The frog arrived looking sickly and not in good health and it went downhill from there. Their customer support was very unhelpful and refused to assist. Do NOT trust these scam artists. My $80 was gone. I do NOT recommend this company, unless you like throwing money away.

I bought 4 turtles and they died less than a week, they were super inactive and just slept all day and eventually died. They would not give me a refund since they wanted the picture of the turtle along side the shipping label. It took them 2 days to get back to my email and never answered the phone. So im guessing they expected me to keep my dead black shrivelled up turtle. I had a picture of it dead and they would not accept it. So yeah, screw this company.
