We received a boa from them about a month ago. She was very thin when we received her. With all the quarantines going on I didn't want to chance it by returning her. I was hoping she was just malnourished. She died yesterday. Not only did I lose a beautiful snake, but I am out 300 dollars. I'm so let down. I'm just sick about the way it turned out.

I've ordered from Backwater four times (amphibians and arthropods). The shipments all arrived on-time with healthy animals. The packaging was fine and they were labeled 'Live Animals'. I did contact them when my first order was cancelled due to running out of the specimen, but they offered to apply the payment to another critter or hold it until they restocked. I ordered a similar animal. I would have given them five stars, except they took an order for an animal that wasn't in stock.

This company is complete fraud. SCAM SCAM SCAM! If i could give 0 stars that would still be too much. And the supervisor Brittany has the most disgusting attitude. I never received my OVERNIGHTED reptile in which i paid almost $40 just for it to be express. I was told that my first order didnt go through because of the billing address so they made me order it again. Never received my pet nor my refund. Scam!!!!!!!!

I ordered a tarantula. Labeled 24.99. I placed my order and realized it was marked 34.99. I emailed the. Asap and asked for a possible item to split thedifference. A frog or something. They said they couldn't and the drag down price was the accurate one. The sole purpose of that species was the 25$ price. I wont be purchasing from this company again.

My order came the day I expected. I decided to add to my order after it was placed. Although it wasn't available they responded quickly. Everything arrived healthy and active. Very pleased.

Do not support this company. Support your local pet stores that actually know what they are doing and care about their animals. They improperly ship their reptiles and then refuse to reimburse you. My reptile arrived dead in front of my kids. He was dead for several reasons: They Shipped a reptile in a tiny container with few air holes inside of a box with no air holes at all, inside of another sealed package with no air holes. They Shipped him with a huge heat source directly next to him instead of attached to the top of the box as it should be for even heat away from his body. The box was not labeled live animal so handlers wouldn't know when they tossed it around.  They shipped a reptile that was much to young and small to survive the shock of shipping. They ship them at 8pm when Fed ex can't be reached by their customer to hold them for them and then nullify the terms when people don't have Fed ex hold them.  Their solution to this problem and their "customer service" was to have me pay them yet again to ship another reptile in those deplorable conditions. I went to an exotic pet place and showed them the package and they just shook their heads at that level of ignorance. Then told me they have heard several complaints from people doing buisness with this company. Care about the safety of these reptiles and go somewhere that cares about them and can get them to you and your family alive.

Orderd 4 yellow-bellied sliders from this bad company received all four semi alive in a small plastic cup with a lid with a damp paper towel in it all four turtles in one container so when the box was shook or move during shipping the turtles must have had to slam into each other with no cushioning or protection the poor things two of them were so small and underfed that their shells were like thin paper and ultra-soft they both died within 2 days another one died two days after that one is left they shipped the turtles in the tiny cardboard box with virtually no insulation and no way to protect the turtles from bouncing around it's for a $40 shipping fee premature and underfed I felt more bad for the turtles than for the money I lost don't waste your money or time

I bought two baby turtles off this website called backwater reptiles. I was learning all I could about taking care of two turtles, they looked fine and healthy enjoying their new tank. But then one of them died about a month after I bought them! Then the following month the other one died! THIS WEBSITE IS A SCAM! THEY TREAT THEIR ANIMALS HORRIBLY! DO NOT BUY FROM THIS WEBSITE!
