Trying to get anyone on the phone in impossible. I signed the docu-sign form to have direct deposit payouts five minutes after I received it. The person who sent it reached out the next day asking if I sent the form back. A week later some other team member left a voicemail to verify I wanted direct deposit payouts for some reason after I signed up for it. Now no one answers a phone or calls or emails back zero communication. But I guess it saved me giving them the percentage they take for direct deposit

We’re sorry to hear about your experience and understand how frustrating delayed communication can be.
AvidXchange offers multiple payment options, including direct deposit, and additional verification steps may sometimes be required as part of the enrollment process to help protect account security and payment accuracy. Avid xchange is an extorsion based…
Avid xchange is an extorsion based business. Their vendor portal never has accurate invoice status information. It never reflects payments approved. Nor does it show payments I received as paid. Is is completely useless. There is absolutely no human customer service, if you interact with one of their agents they recommend FAQ based ineffective solutions. They have you provide lots of info on the invoice number client amount due and no payment information is provided. They offer imediate payment of approved invoices by ACH for a 3% service fee off of your hard earned money! Otherwise wait, and never know when or if payment is coming. Their second option is for excellerated payments, factoring ie pay day loans where they buy your accounts receivables at a 15% discount. That a huge cut in your AR. So the model is to frustrate vendors with fake tools and no support and then offer you a 3% or 15% fee for getting paid. OK so they found an error in my account, I still made 40 or 50 inquiries requesting help and this complaint is what resolved it.

Hi Adam,
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We understand how important accurate payment visibility and clear support are when managing invoices.
After reviewing your account, our team identified that there were duplicate supplier records in our system, which affected how invoice and payment details appeared in the Supplier Hub. Those accounts have now been merged so payment and invoice information can display correctly in one place.
We also want to clarify that AvidXchange can only issue payment once it has been submitted by your customer. Optional accelerated payment programs are available for eligible invoices and may include a fee, but you are not required to use them.
Going forward, your account is set to receive check payments, and your Supplier Hub access has been updated to reflect your invoice and payment activity more accurately.

After waiting 42 minutes to get a person on the line, I game up
I received a check in the mail from AvidXChange which did not identify what it was for and it came after I had been gone three months, so it was outdated. I called to inquire about it. After 42 minutes on hold, I gave up. I was able to get it clarified by googling the business listed (which was unknown to me). They clearly don't have enough staff to take care of phone calls.

Not what they seem
Our company recently switched over to avid exchange to to pay employees per DMs and travel allowances and such. The only problem is is that our company quickly approves all of the submitted details and forwards them to avid. And then avid sits on them for weeks. Sometimes months before reimbursing employees for expenses. I don't know why a company would want to pay another company to ruin their reputation for being great employers

We’re sorry to hear about your experience. We understand how important timely reimbursements are and the impact delays can have.
AvidXchange processes payments after they are approved and submitted by our customers, and timing can vary based on internal approval workflows. Once a payment is submitted to us, it is processed and issued within standard timelines.

It's bad when AI support puts you on hold
Good idea. A cumbersome and confusing process, along with subpar customer support. You know it's bad when AI puts you on hold. I received a virtual credit card with a past expiration date. Called customer service twice, waiting 30 minutes each time, and still not speaking with anyone. Went on AI chat support twice for 30 minutes with no response, but "Please wait while we route you to the next available agent." Really?
------2/19/26 In response to Avidxchange, thank you for responding. I already sent an email to the address you listed. It's unfortunate that the only way I will receive assistance is if I note "Trustpilot review."

AVIDXchange is a terrible company to…
AVIDXchange is a terrible company to work with and I highly recommend companies read all their complaints before signing up for their check writing and mailing services. Business owners are completely lied to and told that signing up with AVIDXchange will streamline their invoice payments, their vendors will get paid faster, and their portal will allow vendors to always know the status of their payments. ALL FALSE! So, business owners sign up with them, not knowing of their predatory practices. For example, take a small, private commercial real estate property management firm. They have over 40 properties they manage, and 20 vendors per property that help maintain their properties. The vendors do their work according to their contracts, and send their invoices once their work is completed. They expect payment in the form of a check for the total amount of their invoice within 1-2 weeks - a fair timeline. This has been the practice for over 40 years. However, when that business signs up with AVID to write and mail out their checks, AVID takes 6-7 weeks. They deliberately delay payments to frustrate vendors, hold onto them for another week before mailing them, then finally mail them, so it takes another 2-3 weeks AFTER invoices are approved to actually receive payment - speaking from personal experience. We were always paid by check within 1 week. Several companies I've worked with have been the same - a simple check run on Wednesday, mailed, payments received by Friday - not AVID's 7 week timeframe. Further, AVID makes companies give out their phone numbers, e-mails, etc., which they misuse. They take that information, give it to telemarketers to call the businesses constantly, repeatedly to try and sell the vendors on getting paid via their Mastercard program or their direct deposit program FOR AN ADDITIONAL FEE OF 3%!!! No, payments are non-negotiable for services previously contracted and already rendered. Additionally, certain companies are not designed for this sort of service. Payments are to be received by check within a reasonable timeframe without unnecessary delays. AVID suggests that instead of getting paid late, companies can get paid faster as long as AVID can get a percentage of the vendors' money. The business owners are not told these things when they sign up with AVID to write their checks. They have no idea that their hard-working vendors of over 40 years are being constantly harassed by AVID, who misuse the vendors' private business information for non-stop sales calls to solicit business, even when told verbally and in writing several times to STOP!! In addition to AVID being paid by the business owners to write their checks and mail them out, AVID desperately tries to get a portion of the VENDOR'S money, by saying that they will get paid faster if they sign up for their Mastercard BS program for 3% of each check!! Their website is never updated or correct, so vendors have no idea of the status of checks, and customer service does not respond to customer service calls, website service request, or emails. No business owners should use AVID for check writing and mailing. They are nothing but a Predatory company with predatory practices that are illegal, and unnecessarily stressful. Business owners would be much better off training 2 staff member how to do weekly check-runs in-house. It's not that complicated!

Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear about your concerns and want to clarify a few points for others who may be reading.
AvidXchange does not charge vendors to receive Mastercard payments. Any fees are set by the vendor’s own merchant services provider, not AvidXchange. To help offset those costs, we allow vendors to process the card for up to 2% above the payment amount at no additional cost to them or their customer.
Payments are only processed after full approval from our customer. Once approved, payments are processed within 1–2 business days and issued within another 1–2 business days, depending on the method. Checks are printed and mailed the next business day via USPS.
We offer multiple payment options and reach out to vendors to ensure they’re aware of those choices. Enrollment is always optional, and we respect payment preferences when shared.

I hate that my client switched from PaymodeX to AvidXchange
I want to be very clear: the people I’ve spoken to at AvidXchange are friendly on the phone, but the systems and processing are another story. They feel broken, confusing, and honestly suspect — as if money is being held and payouts delayed for reasons that are never explained.
I have other properties that use PaymodeX, and I’ve had nothing but stellar service with them. I truly hate that one of my clients switched to AvidXchange, because it now feels like for three-quarters of the month I’m working for free.
It should not take from June until September just to establish direct deposit. It should not take nearly two weeks for a paper check to arrive in the mail. And it definitely should not take me calling every single week, repeating the same story, and still being stuck in this cycle of delays and frustration.
This has been nothing short of a nightmare. AvidXchange seriously needs to overhaul their communication and payment processing systems. Vendors deserve consistency, transparency, and timely payouts — not this endless runaround.
