Becoming a member at Altra has been the best decision I’ve made. It’s difficult to remember a bad experience, the staff has always been very helpful and easy to contact which means a lot. Their loan process is very easy and has helped increase my credit score which is a great bonus!

I went with Altra because they beat out my regular credit union by a percentage point on a recent motorcycle loan. I typically buy a new vehicle every 18 months or so because of the work that I do in the industry, so I was interested in saving some money with Altra. Ultimately, they were fine to work with for originating the loan, but in the months since, I would say that their payment portal and subsequent web services and customer service have been disappointing. Their payment portal is separate from their actual website, it's super confusing and not intuitive at all. Recently when I forgot my password I spent hours trying to get it to reset. This included having to call Customer Service because my account got "locked", having Customer Service tell me I was good to go, but had to manually reset my password on the portal. As soon as I hung up I went to try it, and was still locked out. Not wanting to spend another 15 minutes on hold, I sent over a quick email to which they came back a few hours later saying I would have to call again during work hours (it was now the night time). Here I am now, having the system tell me that they "sent me a password reset email" but with no said email showing up and I am going to get to call them again. I with I would have just stuck with PSECU as my Credit Union. They were phenomenal, easy to work with, and had incredibly easy-to-use payment tools. If I could do it over again I would HAPPILY pay the extra one-percent to not have to deal with Altra's confusing payment tools.

Hello Spurgeon, Upon reviewing your account history, it appears you are locked out of your Online Banking and will need to give us a call to get that unlocked. Also, you are not setup as a Registered User on the Bill Payment website, so there is no e-mail coming for that. Our Member Contact Center would be more than happy to discuss the difference between these two sites and suggest the best payment option with you to make things easier. Instructions to set up online banking does not correlate with altra.org site to find online banking in upper right hand corner of screen. Tried many times and still cannot access or create account. Already am hating this service for my vehicle loan.

All I want to do is to have someone send money to my account from their altra account. I googled this and found altra pay, and I keep getting how to do it through Mobile. It says its for Desktop and Mobile, but the instructions are clearly for mobile only. It says to click "SEND MONEY" which is only in the mobile app, not the online banking home page.

Hello Adam, Sorry for any confusions there! Our "Send Money" feature is only available on our mobile app at this time. Depending on what you Googled, we do have transfer and "make a payment" options available on our desktop version, but those are different products. If you would like an Altra member to send you under $1000, they can user our mobile app for that feature.
