Quality is fantastic
Quality is fantastic. I did not like how bulky the L-plate is on the camera body. I prefer one that can be left on, so I returned. it. If you don't mind putting it on a and taking it off, you couldn't get a higher quality plate.

Hi Mike, We agree, our "L' Bracket is really great if you are shooting multiple camera bodies and are always upgrading your gear. They are also great if you do not want to have an "L" bracket on at all times. Even the custom ones add bulk to a camera. If you do not fall in the above category, then we would recommend you look at one of the camera specific L Brackets made by one of the other manufacturers. Using an L bracket is matter of preference. Most of us here prefer to shoot with only the camera plate and add the bracket when needed...but that is just us. Great Customer Service
I had the RRS TFC-34 MK2 which is the tripod without a bowl connection on the top so I needed a leveling base (1170) that would work on top of the tripod with a panoramic head (1165) and nodal rail (1135). I spoke with Patty from Acratech and she researched my question and let me know it would work so I ordered those three items. She also explained that they had an updated clamp for the Panoramic Head and recommended I wait a few days for those to be manufactured. I agreed with her advice and was pleasantly surprised when she called me back to let me know they had the new style clamp and would ship all items a week early. You can expect great and friendly service from Acratech. By the way the 3 components work very well on my RRS tripod.

I have never had anything from Acratech…
I have never had anything from Acratech that was not top notch and a pleasure to use in the field.I am often in remote areas and I need to know my equipment will not fail me.

Not what I expected
Not what I expected. It really is a lot for not much of anything. I still don't get the right look on my computer. I think it also is where you sit or high or low your laptop is. If I line it up then my my screen is too dark. I had hoped it locked my screen in place.

Hi Jeannie, I am sorry it is not what you expected. The viewing Angle Gauge simply provides a simple repeatable reference to view your screen on center-line and perpendicular to it. It is completely unaffected by height you are sitting at. If your screen looks to dark, it is likely that your monitor needs calibration. If your monitor has had the the colors calibrated you will want to calibrate the brightness. The brightness should be adjusted so it is correct when you are viewing your screen as indicated with the Viewing Angle Gauge. There are test patterns that will help you evaluate and adjust the brightness. With proper monitor adjustment and calibration, the Viewing Angle Gauge should work very well for you.

Upgrading the arca Swiss Mount.
I have used an Acratech BP head for several years. I just upgraded the screw arcs Swiss mount to a locking mount. I like it a lot. I ordered one afternoon and it was shipped the next.
