One star is too high!
One star is too high! Declined by every UK retailer I have tried, then told it's my fault My employer issued a work incentive as a virtual card through My Payment Vault. I have not been able to spend it anywhere. Not "some retailers" — every single UK retailer I have tried has declined it. That includes high street shops, travel agents and amusement parks. There is no pattern to it beyond the obvious one: the card does not work in the UK. My Payment Vault's explanation changes depending on who you speak to. Sometimes it's a vague "security" decline. More often I'm told that according to their records I have entered the card details incorrectly — which I have not, repeatedly, across multiple retailers and multiple attempts. At no point has anyone been willing or able to tell me which UK retailers do accept the card. The answer I was given was that there are too many to list, which is not an answer at all when nothing I try works. Support makes it worse. Agents decide the query is resolved without checking whether it is, then close the chat. Follow up and you start a new conversation and explain everything again from scratch. You are also logged out constantly, so simply holding one conversation together is a job in itself. The reviews here are near identical, so this is how the business operates rather than bad luck. Employers: if you use My Payment Vault to pay staff incentives, understand that UK staff may not be able to spend a penny of it. That is not a reward, it is an unusable balance and a fortnight of arguing. Would not recommend.
