Update: the day after I posted this review I received a phone call from the manager of the store who apologized for my bad experience and offered to give me a free SD card supposedly valued at $399 if I changed my rating to a 5. I told him that my experience was so bad it wasn't worth $399 at which point he offered to give it to me if I just took my review down. Now I know how they get the good reviews. As a side note I could only find the brand of SD card that they sell at their store. Every other store sells a 32 GB SD card for $30.....another scam. I had almost the exact same experience as Vincent mentions below only I called back immediately to ask for itemized up charges which I never received so I tried to cancel my order. They insisted it was already shipped even though they had not even created the label yet for UPS to pick up. This was very easy to confirm with UPS which I did. When I said I was going to return it I was told there would be a 20% restocking fee for an item that had not even left their warehouse. The camera is a grey market camera with no warranty. Trying to talk to these people is impossible. They are rude, interrupt, do not let you speak and then have the nerve to call me rude!! Run do not walk away from this store. I can not understand how they are still in business unless people do not even know what they have purchased. When you figure it out and question them they get very rude and obnoxious

I couldn't be happier with my recent purchase from 42nd Street Photo. It had been awhile since I ordered from them, but they made me feel like an "A-list" customer who was a regular. I placed the order on a Friday with no real hurry to receive my purchase. On Saturday they called to verify the order, introduce themselves, and make sure I was very-satisfied with the customer service. Couldn't have been happier. It shipped on Monday from the East Coast and I received the item on Wednesday on the West Coast, and that's without any expediting. I couldn't be happier with the service and ease of ordering. I had shopped around to get the best deal possible on a new camera and 42nd St by far beat all the other competitors like Amazon, Best Buy and others for price. Added bonus was the great customer service. They even called me to verify a few items which I found unusual but helpful for an online purchase.

I ordered on line and was impressed with Michael who followed up,on my order via phone. He answered all my questions and suggested a few other items. I was elated with their customer service and prompt delivery!

The Sony G 9mm macro lens is excellent, one of the few I kept. Had a little problem with the filters, but 42 st photo came through. The issue was resolved in a timely fashion and to my favor.

I bought a digital Nikon from 42nd St Photo a while back. The price was excellent, delivery was fast and the product arrived in good condition and as advertised.
