So I purchased a new Leica C-lux from there Amazon store. Asked several times if this was brand new and was assured it was. This camera is from 2018 so I should of known better as NO ONE has this camera new in box anymore. When I finally received the camera there were no manuals, no warranty info and it came in a generic white box NOT original box. I contacted them and they said "since camera came out years ago the box deteriorated" Did the manuals deteriorate as well??? I call bs cause several sellers have this listed in various conditions (not new) with original box and manuals. So there's didn't deteriorate but yours did?? SEVERAL reviews say same thing, received cameras in generic boxes with no info. Seller only has 1 of these and it sold out when I purchased HOWEVER the minute I requested a refund the seller relisisted my item as new before it was even shipped back. Stay far away from this scammer as they will list stuff as new then when you receive all the sudden the box is generic and they give same answer. "Box deteriorated with age" luckily Amazon was able to refund me. Should of listened to all their negative reviews.

I ordered a “Nikon Coolpix P510 16.1 Megapixel Digital Camera” from 42nd Street Photo’s website for $325. I received an email the same day confirming my purchase for $325. The next day, 42nd Street photo sent me an email to contact them. I called them and a man explained that the $325 price was a mistake, the actual price was $500. As of today, 03/13/2026, the camera is still listed on their website for $325. I asked him to cancel my order. He then said he could offer me a “display” camera for $425. I reluctantly agreed. About five minutes later, I called him back and asked him to cancel my order. He said he would cancel the order. The next day, I received an email stating that my purchase was shipped with USPS and a tracking number was provided. I called my local Post Office and said I was refusing the package and to send it back to the sender. 42nd Street Photo received it back. I contacted 42nd Street three times and requested a full refund. They would not say if they would refund me the $425. Later, I received an email that a refund was issued. Whenever I checked my credit card balance, I was credited only $384.50 instead of $425.00. I was cheated out of $40.50. I contacted 42nd Street Photo and they said the $40.50 was a restocking fee. I do not recommend doing business with 42nd Street Photo.

I called and the sales person that took my call during the conversation suddenly decided that he did not want to continue talking with me and transferred to recording machine.

Ordered an item from an Amazon listing. Day after Amazon said it shipped and charged my card, I was notified by Amazon about a refund for an "account adjustment", for the full amount. The item still showed as "Shipped", expected Jul 24. I called seller directly (42nd Street Photo). They told me they went to warehouse for the item, found an inventory error, and refunded my money. No apology, the item still shows as shipped, expected in the past, "probably delivered on Jul 24". All blame rests on 42nd Street Photo , they told Amazon it had shipped before they even had the item in hand, were advertising an item they didn't really have, and although they did refund the money when they found their "error", they didn't update the bad status.

Purchased a Canon EOS R7 Camera with 80-150mm lense, item number 122281, and expected to pay the listed price of $1,299. The price of $1,899 had a line drawn threw it indicating a $600 savings. The $1,299 price is for a European bare bones stripped down model with none of the touted features.The fully functional model as described is $1,899. Bait and switch. I would not buy from them again.

I ordered a Canon R3 and Canon 100-500mm lens. I got the camera and lens and then 5 months later figured I better register the camera and lens with Canon Professional Services. They said, you can't because it's gray market. When I bought the camera and lens I specifically said, I don't want any gray market cameras or lenses. Well I got gray market crap. I am going to sue these rotten losers. These guys are just criminals pretending to be a camera store! STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!

Scam merchant "bait and switch". They made an error in shipping the item to my home address instead to temporary address. I called them and was told "We noticed the different address and held back on your order" I had paid max rate for expedited shipping. I was then told "You ordered the international version it only comes in Mandarin!"* So much for being international. We do have the domestic version - which costs more - $160 more including extended warranty." I told the agent I did not want extended warranty. He immediately said "There was no option to decline the warranty. I will cancel your order and give you a refund." I agreed. * I re-ordered the same camera with fictitious details. There is NOT an option for selecting international or domestic. Dishonest and untruthful company.

Like so many others, I paid to learn a very valuable lesson to stay away from 42nd street photo and CPS Warranty. I initially ordered an "international" version of the Canon R5 from 42nd Steet Photo. They called and explained the difference so I paid more for the American version. Almost immediately I started getting "Error 70" messages while shooting. I've since learned that's a common problem with the R5. I tried multiple fixes but none worked. I then tried to register the camera with Canon, only to learn that it was NOT in fact an American version but was a gray market camera and was not covered with any waranty. I called 42nd Street and they said, "Oh no, it's covered by CPS." So I get with them, register the camera and file a claim and within minutes the claim is denied because I experienced the problem within the first 30 days of ownership. So in effect, THERE IS NO WARRANTY. What a scam! Again, I paid to learn a very valuable lesson. STAY AWAY!
