I purchased a Whistler TRX 1 from zip scanners after programming the radio I found the P25 simulcast reception is terrible. I find that it is going to cost me $100.00 to return it. I will not purchase anything from Zip Scanners again. bad bad bad company Update : I now find that Zip Scanners in now trying to intimidate me to change my review by holding up my refund for 90 days of 85% of what I paid.

Perhaps I'm unusual, because I wanted to program my scanner so that it would do what I wanted it to do. All I know is that my scanner arrived on time, and that Zipscanners gave me just the right amount of phone support teaching me what I needed to know. I've seen other reviews knocking this firm, and I want all to know that (a) the website is explicit on what is and what is not included in your purchase, and (b) these people treated me as if I was an older uncle of theirs. Look at the complaints, and then look at their website. You'll find that those who complained lack the ability to READ...and have no problem being rude.

Ordered a TRX-1 scanner package that came with 4 “high powered” batteries. On day two the batteries wouldn’t hold a charge. Now the scanner shuts down after two minutes after being unplugged. Emailed the company and was told to just keep it plugged in most of the time or spend more money to buy a separate stand alone charger. Keeping it plugged in all of the time defeats the purpose of selecting a portable scanner. Very disappointed in their willingness or ability to address the “high powered” batteries they sent me, which was part of a much larger dollar transaction. I could have gotten a better response buying rechargeable batteries at Best Buy. Your web page for the package I purchased from you does not state anything about needing to purchase a separate charger. What it does state is, "Look no further...this package includes everything needed for the scanner to work right out of the box...the last thing you want to do is buy a snappy new gadget for yourself or as a gift only to have technical issues..." Apparently I do have to look further and it doesn't include everything right out of the box. The only mention of batteries on this page is to charge them before use. Which I did, through the scanner. If it is so strongly recommended then perhaps you should either include it as part of the package or note it on the sales page itself. Interesting note to those reading this... the company went back after this was posted and changed the sales page to reflect what they incorrectly said was there before. Go to review on Facebook for screenshots of the before and after. Had this review as a two star previously. Went back and changed it to a one star after this was dealt with in such a manner. I would be cautious making a purchase here as you may be told you were informed of something only to find that they’ll change it later to cover themselves, as happened in my case.

I purchased a Whistler TRX-1 Handheld Digital Scanner from Zip Scanner. Price excellent for scanner and the SERVICE was GREAT! I needed the opportunity to program this scanner. The hardest part to programming is removing the protective case. The scanner was up and running 30 minutes after unboxing. I have 3 other older RadioShack scanners (trunking but not digital) and this scanner is way superior in my opinion. I would suggest that people purchase the car charger and cord at the time of the scanner purchase. Small problems with battery life, but that is to be expected because of the added features of the scanner.  Color coding of the talk groups  delay setting  the ease of transferring voice recording to my computer with a date stamp  I don’t miss any radio traffic in my area now Recommendation: Download both Uniden and Whistler software a couple of weeks before ordering any scanner. I purchased a TRX-1 scanner with programming. It shipped out and I received it in two days. It’s quite different from the ones I have and was excited to try it out, however something was wrong and did not work out of the box. I made a call and explained that what I was being told to look for on the scanner was not there. They mailed out a new card right away and as soon as it was installed the scanner was up and running perfectly. Thank you so much for the help and quick response.

A first time purchase with this company. Very prompt and a pleasure to work with. I would recommend them without hesitation and plan to order again with them in the future. The TRX-2 appears to be a great radio as is the Uniden 536 hp. I have used both but find the Whistler a little more intuitive once you become familiar or reacquaint yourself with object oriented scanning. Again, not to knock the Uniden which I’ve used for quite a long time. I also find the Whistler display much brighter and easier to read which is a significant plus for me, particularly when mobile. Thanks to Zip for a good experience. Well satisfied with your service.

ordered a whisterl trx-1 scanner and had the guys program my local counties for police,fire,ems shipping was super fast programming is perfect , they only added the things i wanted best products,best customer service,super fast shipping highly recommend ZIP Scanners
