Used Zillow for house rental for my team in town for a build. I applied in the company name and listed the occupants by name and company email. The first occupant was contacted and told that the company needed his application and credentials. He applied and his identity was stolen. I contacted Zillow, called, opened service tickets and no response to date. I did a search and found the "owner" on the listing is not the owner of the house. The house is not for rent or sale on any other site. This wasn't a new listing either. After more research, I found that this happens often and scammers use Zillow to bait potential buyers and renters I to providing application information to not only steal identities but to set up rental payments and deposits. My advice, stay as far away from this site as possible!

Zillow is a joke to me because we not only submitted application fees to zilllow individually but every place we looked at wanted an additional application fee for their paperwork. I am completely disgusted with Zillow. I have clients who made an offer on a Zillow-owned property and it has been a disaster! Terrible.

Zillow supports and protects unethical real estate agents. I wrote a review of a real estate agent who behaved unethically on the other side of a deal I was in. Zillow REFUSED to post it. Until Zillow holds all Real Estate agents accountable for their conduct, the Real Estate industry will continue to be a cesspool.

I contact Zillow because I was interested to buy, they send me the agent info Alex in Colorado I introduce myself and we choose the day of the showing, 30 min before the meeting Alex ask me if I was interested in buying because everyone asks him for rent!!! I think Zillow needs to train their sellers better because they are losing potential buyers!!! I have to cancel 2 appointments to meet that clown... For real zillow train your agents...

Every time I find a home it ends up being under contract or sold and the listings are never updated. Then I start getting annoying calls from zillow from people who I can't understand. It's horrible.

Zillow seriously invaded my privacy and won’t take responsibility for it! I sent a private email to a friend unassociated with Zillow. Somehow it ended up in a string of messages with my Zillow messages. They will not take any responsibility for it and say I accidentally cc’d the Zillow person - this does not correspond with the email I sent!!! They take forever to return messages and keep going in the same circle.

First, the descriptions compared to same property, different site, are sorely wanting overall. I would give them a 1 star, but I can say one positive thing. Their bot, “Alex”, is prompt at responding. If only the same could be said of the agents. Whether you contact them directly or wait in vain for them to call you after Alex says they will, they are less than helpful (with ONE notable exception). Either no response, terse replies or “i do not have that information”. Brokers need to put new agents on ‘low commission duty’ to pay their dues. Full disclosure I’m a cash buyer, but not spending a lot of money, so I would not expect them to put out a lot of effort by showing up at rural properties. But I do expect them to be able to answer questions about whether it’s landlocked, if there are CCRs and similar. This week, I was told an agent would be calling me. I waited my usual 3 days and texted her. The full response: “Good afternoon I’m not sure why you would be given my info for a property in Texas as I only work in Tucson AZ. Paula” I don’t know either Paula—have a nice day. There was a single agent who went the extra mile. He went to an S us property, took video, sent it to me with the name of a money lender specializing in rehabs, but said it was not, in his opinion, something I should tackle with limited funds. He was a keeper. Unfortunately only specializes in one geographical area. I think I’m done with Zillow.
