This was my 1st ever guided tour and Ya'lla Tours raised my expectations! I went on the Israel tour that visited Tiberas and Jerusalem. The food, accommodations, and the tour guides were all top notch! Every day was organized very well and went seamlessly. The tour guides were knowledgeable and imparted a lot of information regarding the sites we visited. Day 1 of trip we were able to visit Magdala which was not part of our original itinerary, but that ended up being my favorite stop of the day. My only negative - that prevented a perfect score of 5 - was to have a direct flight to Tel Aviv or for Ya'lla Tours to choose a different airline. We flew Turkish Airlines with a connection in Istanbul. Nevertheless, it was an exhausting checking and boarding experience! There were multiple checkpoints which I don't see in other countries. The great highlight of the tour was our guide was Jacob. He was so much fun and I don't think I've laughed that much on a tour! I had a great time and I'm already looking forward to going back to Jerusalem!

Thank you for the great review, Tamara! Your feedback means a lot to us. Unfortunately, there are no nonstop flights between Houston and Tel Aviv. The intense security process that you experienced is not specific to the Istanbul airport, rather it applies to all flights bound for Israel, which has the tightest security in the world. We like Turkish Air for its good service and rates. However, next time you go to Israel, we can put you on a US domestic airline, so you'll make your connection and pass Israeli security before you're exhausted by a long trans-Atlantic flight.

There were many things about this tour that we liked very much, most notably - our tour guide, Boaz Cohen was FABULOUS. However, I have a major complaint, which drives my rating - the tour that I purchased clearly specified that our group would not exceed 20. And yet, there were more than 35 participants on our day trip to Masada and the Dead Sea (there was no advance notice). There were several delays during this day, directly attributed to the additional participants; much time was lost/wasted. Additionally, because for most of the tour Boaz had to perform driving duties as well as guide duties, we wasted a great deal of time in Jerusalem dealing with parking issues. As a consequence, I would have a difficult time trusting Ya'lla on a future tour. As a postscript, upon reading Ya'lla's response - the Masada tour was not an add-on, but was an integral part of the purchased 12 day "Splendors of Israel" itinerary. Per the Ya'lla website - "This Israel tour is guaranteed to operate with a minimum of 2 passengers. The average group size is 10-15 and the maximum is 20, although a group that large is rare."

Dear Hope and Ron, You are absolutely right. Our initial response here was sincere but was based on a misunderstanding. In fact, you were on the wrong Masada tour. We have refunded the full cost of the Masada tour you paid for to your credit card. Please accept our apologies. Dear Hope and Ron, We sincerely apologize for neglecting to advise that the optional day-tour to Masada, which was appended to your main tour, may have as many as 40 passengers. For the bulk of your tour, 7 touring days out of 8, you traveled in a group of 7 for the price of a group of 20. That's a pretty good deal. Many tour operators would have cancelled the tour altogether, rather than run it with so few passengers. Still, we recognize your disappointment and frustration with regards to the Masada day. We truly strive to represent our products and services honestly and to deliver what we promise. We regret this oversight and its negative impact on an otherwise positive experience.
