Stay away if you can help it
If you can help it, turn back now. I used to work for Xfinity, it’s a decent company who has good intentions but the majority of the people they employ don’t seem to have any knowledge about issues that come up. The data is capped at 20GB and once you exceed that which is not hard to do, your data is extremely slow. You’ll be lucky if you can get a single webpage to load. Next problem, it is so hard to get a hold of a person when calling customer service that it makes you want to switch to another company and pay more money. There are times you will call and the automated system will hang up on you a good 8-10 times before you finally get it to understand your angry and need to speak with an agent. The prices are decent yes but the service you get is the lowest of the low, the cheapest of cheap, there are cuts through every corner. Yes Xfinity may use Verizon towers but Verizon customers get priority to those towers. Basically that means while everyone else is getting better service for 10-20 bucks more your only able to connect via 1% of Verizon’s towers. Moving onto the final issue, the app they use for Xfinity Mobile is garbage and even that may be an understatement. The app can fail to load basic information about your account such as billing, data, devices, troubleshooting, etc. Now with all of the issues Xfinity Mobile has, you’ll likely need to call in every 2-3 weeks to solve another problem. Of course if the automated system repeatedly continues to hang up on you , your going to become upset. You may try to use the app to troubleshoot only to find out it won’t load your information to troubleshoot. I’ve had this issue since the day I got Xfinity a couple years ago but cannot leave until my device is paid off which i will be doing very soon. Once it’s paid off im going to Verizon or AT&T where it’s a bit more but the service is Golden. Especially with Verizon…. Those are the big guys, I think I’ll stick with them. They seem to know what excellent customer service is. With this in mind, most of the time after fighting a war with the automated system and climbing the chain to several different agents I can (usually) get my issues resolved. That being said be prepared to need to call in again 2-3 weeks later for another issue or even the same one in certain cases.
