Enjoyed ordering off the website. My daughter really wanted a djembe as a gift, and I wasn't sure about just which drum would be best for her. The videos you had embedded on the site, talking about the different size djembes and how to fit a drum properly, hearing how each sounds when played, and the tuning of the drums was REALLY helpful. I was happy to purchase. However, almost two days AFTER placing the order, I received an email requesting an ADDITIONAL shipping charge to get my order to Alaska. Based on the dimensions and the weight reported, I found that USPS 3-day shipping would total out to roughly both what was originally quoted during purchase plus the additional charge requested after the sale. I paid the additional shipping, but will be watching the shipping to see if I receive my order in the 3 day expected window. Adding shipping costs after the purchase feels to the consumer like a scam. My feeling is that most would not research the rates to verify, they might just cancel an order. I would encourage X8 to make sure the website is accurately charging shipping the first time. Finally, if you are going to offer free shipping, offer it to ALL states, not just the contiguous states. My research found that shipping via USPS to Maine costs as much as shipping to me in Alaska, but if I lived in Maine and purchased the djembe that I did, I would have received free shipping. USPS ships priority mail based on size and weight, regardless of whether I live in Alaska. Hopefully, the quality of the product will outweigh my displeasure with X8's shipping practices.

I just tracked your package and it is showing as out for delivery today and I agree with you in hoping that the quality will outweigh the shipping frustration. I'm confident that the Celtic Labyrinth djembe will do just that. Your comments about the free shipping are taken very seriously and will be discussed as part of our 2015 plans. As one of the founding partners of X8 Drums, I have always wanted to make sure that we never profit on shipping and sometimes that puts us in a situation like we had with you where the actual cost is more than the company can absorb. I got some cad cad shakers and there working pretty well. the shakers are a little big and the string for my hands was a little too short. I made some modification and it works good. They haven't come apart like some others i've bought.;-(

I came to X8 site, becuase my friends told me to buy X8 Otherwise, if i would have reached on your site on my own, then i doubt, i would buy product from your site. I think something need to be done to make it customer friendly and providing specific details about products, in order to make them enable to take their decision with confidence. I like on line support system you provide.

I like the front end of the new website. I can very quickly find the type of drum I'm looking for. Overall, a cleaner site with fast page switching. I could not, however, find any demos/videos/sound tracks for any drums. Did they go away, or am I just not finding them? (I didn't spend a lot of time looking for them).

Hi Donald, Thanks for your feedback. Please note we recently transferred back-end web hosting providers and during the migration certain videos didn't automatically come over correctly. We then had to manually bring over many missing videos. However, I'm happy to report that all videos have been correctly migrated and are there for your viewing pleasure. The we website is awesome and easy to navigate. I have ordered from the company twice and would do so again. Only complaint is I ordered a drum head cushion and the website said it was in stock, and they called me two days later to inform me it would be a little late,because they did not have the item.
