Our horror story started in Branson
Our horror story started in Branson. I was picking up our tickets to our shows from Vacations made easy when this nice young man named Roland said we were eligible for discounted tickets for any show available. He went on to say that because I purchased the discounted tickets he was giving me a pass to see the Christmas lights, a $25 American Express gift certificate and two free nights at a Wyndham anywhere in the world. All I had to do is attend an hour and a half meeting to learn about a Wyndham vacation. I quickly caught on to his game since we were caught up in one several years ago in Galveston Tx. We never bought in to their scam then and wasn’t going to buy into their circus game either. The next day we show up at 11;30a and were met by this petite 18 year old girl who seemed so interested in us. Asking us where we were from etc. I specifically told her that we were meeting some people at 1:30 and had to be out of there by then (a lie but so what) we sat through the presentation and politely listened to all the lies being thrown at us. Afterwards she asked if we wanted to tour the property and since it was still early I said sure. We toured the property and she asked if this was something we’d be interested in. I replied ‘no. Not at all’ we went back to the center and were greeted by the manager, a slick looking ponytail guy who should have been a used car sales man. He started getting uncomfortable as after every sales pitch I kept responding ‘no. Not interested.’ I felt like he was ready to verbally attack me and I was hoping he would. After 2 hours I told him. ‘ we’re late. We have to go.’ He stomps away like a spoiled child and tells us we have to talk to his manager before we leave. So here we go, to see another loser. I politely told him that we didn’t want what they were selling. He responded by pointing at the door and saying. ‘There’s the door. Make your way out’ with pleasure I said. Bottom line, don’t fall for their scam. All they want is your money and could care less about the financial hardship that they can put on you. Oh. I got all my freebies except the two free nights at any Wyndham. But it was fun watching them squirm.
