We are writing this review to share our unfortunate experience as owners of a Wyndham Destinations timeshare at the Las Vegas Grand Desert resort. Our decision to enter into this agreement in September 2019 has proven to be a colossal mistake of trust, filled with nothing but deception, false promises, and an overwhelming financial burden. Our introduction to the timeshare world started with a supposed 90-minute presentation promising show tickets and meal vouchers. The presentation was a four-hour ordeal as aggressive salespeople utilized every trick in the book to pressure us into signing up. Our sales representative, Phil, was the epitome of deceit who made us believe that the timeshare was an investment in our future. The presentation sold us on the idea that our purchase would grant us ownership of properties, even passing it down to our children. We later found out that this was nothing but smoke and mirrors – we were only club members, not actual property owners. This revelation was followed by the pushy upsell to VIP status, which involved taking on additional costs and commitments. Additional fees blindsided us, and the supposed flexibility turned into a nightmare when booking availability proved anything but guaranteed. Our expectations were crushed as we realized the limitations and extra expenses hidden behind the façade of our timeshare ownership. What was meant to be relaxing vacation time turned into a relentless battle against Wyndham's incessant pressure to attend more presentations. This invasive tactic turned our getaways into stress-filled experiences, completely counter to the relaxation we sought. The high-interest rates we unknowingly signed up for further exacerbated this situation. A far cry from the affordable vacations we were promised. The false hope of recouping costs through Airbnb only added to the insult. We want out of this nightmare and our contract terminated.
