I attended a Wyndham presentation at Margaritaville in Pigeon Forge, TN after being offered free show tickets at a local Walmart. The presentation, conducted primarily by Brandon Burke, was a relentless barrage of Wyndham's timeshare virtues. Even after expressing financial concerns as parents of two, Brandon exploited our vulnerabilities, emphasizing access to Disney World and Disney resort telling us the savings would make the contract worthwhile. He pushed us to put the payment on a Barklays credit card they signed us up for without disclosing the ridiculous interest rate.
In a virtual signing meeting with Erick Lee, we were bombarded with digital documents without the chance to review them. Exhausted after three hours, we trusted the sales team's claim that we only needed to do what was necessary for the signing. Since then, Wyndham has harassed us to purchase more points or rent out our RCI time. We declined over five offers, but the pressure didn't subside.
Throughout this ordeal, we faced intense pressure from four different Wyndham sales employees who seemed to gang up on us. We were lied to about hotel room availability, and property value appreciation, and coached to direct questions during contract closing to the sales team, not the contracting employee.
As public sector employees valuing honesty, our experience with Wyndham was a stark contrast to these principles. It is beyond shameful what Wyndham has turned Margaritaville into. Beware of Wyndham's salespeople. Whatever they tell you – it's a trap!

Their mistake, my problem
Was scheduled by a team member for a “look see” via a phone call at 8:30. Called at 8:35 when no one called my cell and was told to come to tower 4 for the presentation. Hopped in my car and drove over and got there at 8:50. Was told I was late and could not join. The next time was 12:30. I had plans at 12 for today that had to be changed to be there. The manager at the sales department in tower 4 on floor 1 was absolutely awful. Did not take accountability for her team members mistake and then they would not give me her name. It’s very apparent that people are just dollar signs to them. Our family has been utilizing Wyndham for 27 years and I’m disgusted with how they treat repeat customers.

Outraged with Club Wyndham
I am thoroughly repulsed by the experience I recently had with Club Wyndham. As a dedicated 10-year veteran actively serving in the United States Air Force, I anticipated receiving the utmost respect and integrity. Unfortunately, my encounter with Club Wyndham was marred by deceit and manipulation.
The incident unfolded during the Charleston Air Force Base Air Show on April 9, 2022, when my wife innocently approached a booth with the expectation of claiming a prize. Little did we anticipate that this seemingly innocent act would plunge us into a six-hour nightmare at their Edisto Beach location on May 22, 2022.
The unauthorized enrollment for a credit card, the failure to disclose South Carolina's rescission period, and the distortion of information regarding passing down the membership to our children are all actions that I find completely unacceptable.
In light of these egregious actions, I am left with no choice but to demand the immediate cancellation of the timeshare contract, a full refund, and the removal of any unauthorized credit card accounts associated with Club Wyndham. This distressing experience has undoubtedly tarnished the reputation of their organization, and I am hopeful for a prompt and satisfactory resolution to this matter. As a dedicated member of the U.S. Air Force, I expected better treatment from a company as “respectable” as Club Wyndham.

Misinformation
I was on vacation at a Wyndham Resort, I was attracted by the offer of High Roller certificates in exchange for attending a Club Wyndham VIP presentation. However, it became evident that this was a strategy to engage vacationers like me in a prolonged sales pitch. Despite my repeated refusals, expressing a lack of interest in purchasing a timeshare, sales representatives such as Derry Obrien and Tzlil Levi disregarded my wishes and persistently pushed their agenda.
The significant amount of misinformation I received was VIP Membership, the assurance that I could sell back my timeshare to Wyndham at any time and potentially make a profit. This misrepresented claim led me to believe that acquiring a timeshare was a sound financial decision, but it ultimately turned out to be a financially burdensome situation, fostering a false sense of security.
The sales team went to great lengths to mislead me about the VIP membership, the rental income and real estate investment value of the timeshare. Despite promises of a lucrative opportunity that would offset costs, the reality has been a consistent drain on my finances. Assertions about the potential for rental income and the overall investment were misleading, creating a stark contrast to the vivid images painted by your representatives. The depicted scenarios of financial prosperity and limitless vacation opportunities turned out to be far from the truth, and the overall representation of real estate, investment, and rental income proved to be inaccurate.
The contract closing process was rushed and chaotic, leaving me with no chance to thoroughly review the documents before signing. Obtaining a copy of the contract required multiple attempts to contact Ms. Lucy Sherman, with numerous hours spent on hold with Wyndham Care.

Broken Trust: Run
My wife and I entered into a timeshare contract with Wyndham in February 2020, expecting enjoyable vacations and secondary income, as promised during a presentation, but it turned out to be a disastrous experience!
The sales presentation hyped the timeshare as a real estate opportunity, giving us the potential to rent out the property. Attempts to rent have been futile, and the promised income is non-existent.
Despite assurances of ample availability, booking desirable dates and destinations has been consistently challenging. The properties we managed to book fell short of the promised standards, diminishing the value of our ownership. Relentless and coercive sales tactics, including the withholding of our personal identification, created an atmosphere of distrust and frustration.
Financial crises were met with uncompassionate responses and promised exit programs proved non-existent. The final blow came in Orlando, where a promised 30-minute update turned into a 2.5-hour ordeal of more broken promises and manipulations.
Beware – Wyndham's promises are a facade, and their commitment to customer satisfaction is non-existent. Steer clear of Wyndham Club Vacations to save yourself the headache.

Wyndham Timeshare Ownership= Unfulfilled promises and unexpected financial burdens!
Our 2019 Wyndham resort presentation, part of a discounted trip package, turned into a 3-hour high-pressure timeshare sales pitch. Misleading information, rushed Zoom contract signing, and made-up promises of rental income left us feeling betrayed. Initial appeals of legacy benefits and reasonable maintenance fees were short-lived, and upgrades only led to escalating financial commitments and the same lack of availability as before. Persistent sales calls and untimely upgrades, coupled with ever-increasing VIP point requirements, added to our frustration. The "owner updates" became prolonged sales pitches, pushing us into further financial commitments. The latest pressure in September revealed escalating maintenance fees, leaving us regretful about our Wyndham Timeshare Ownership. The transparent and affordable family vacations we were promised turned out to be a series of unfulfilled promises and unexpected financial burdens.

Traveler Advisory
Traveler Advisory! My complaint to Wyndham properties was not the usual issues of cleanliness, coffee pot not working, heat and air conditioning not working, etc. My complaint dealt with personal safety of my wife and I while staying at a Super 8 in Crawfordsville, Indiana, November 26, 2023.
We noticed the window in our room on the ground floor was open. Upon trying to lock it, we found that it would not lock. Quite possible the window was left open by someone who would sneak in to the room to sleep and leave early AM.
We went to the front desk to advise employee of the situation. We were not offered a new room. My wife asked to have a dowel rod or similar. She was taken into the maintenance room and noticed a toilet plunger that might work to secure window by placing in window track. Wife unscrewed handle from toilet plunger and brought it back to room where she found it was too short to secure window.
I asked to speak to manager and was told that he was not available and would call me at 8 AM in the morning. Attempted to sleep, and of course, was not able to sleep due to being anxious, scared and fearful for our safety. Imagine going to sleep in a hotel on the ground floor with a window that will not lock. In the morning while placing some things in the car. I noticed the hotel was next to a "XXX Topless Club". Now, imagine being in a hotel on the ground floor with a window that will not lock in such a neighborhood! Shortly after 8:00 A.M. I went to office to speak to manager. I told the employee about the non locking window and was told that he would call me tomorrow, of course, the phone call never came.
I contacted Windham and told them my issue. They seemed to understand my concern for safety for my wife and me. I told the employee that we had video and audio of the window not locking inside the room, as well as outside the room. The outside video shows the "XXX Topless Club" Ad on the side of the building, which is seen while scanning the property to show it was a super 8. I was told that someone would contact me in 2 days following up. We received an email with a complaint #. We sent the video and audio associated with our complaint to Wyndham. Nothing but crickets since our original call to Wyndham.
Quite by accident while reconciling some accounts, I noticed a credit the amount paid for room. No one has called to speak to us about our issue and how they were going to handle it.
Generally speaking, many reputable companies upon finding they were at fault by providing an inferior product, service, etc. will refund what the customer spent, and will offer some gesture to retain the customer's loyalty. In this instance a free night stay at a higher end hotel then the super 8 chain would have been appropriate to compensate for a frightful night.
I have had an experience nothing like this one and was reimbursed for my stay and given a free night's stay at a similar brand. From personal experience, the Choice hotels are a better option with many different brands to choose from. The management of the hotel seem to be better than Wyndham, hotels and the customer care team is more responsive!
Run! Don't walk away from Wyndham properties, run to Choice hotels, you will be much happier and feel your business is valued!

I stayed at a Travelodge owned by…
I stayed at a Travelodge owned by Wyndham in Regina. My room and my colleague's rooms were never cleaned properly. My colleague got missed on a few days. The rooms were not being replenished of supplies. But he last day I was there, the airline cancelled my flight. I asked the employee not to disconnect my phone as I am trying to make alternate arrangements. He refused, even though they had my credit card on file in the even that would have made long distance calls, which I didn't. I spent 3.5 hours on my cell phone trying to make arrangements. I rented a car which was a very small economy car, on the highway that was covered in ice and black ice for 6 hours with no cell phone power. I was not prepared to drive home, because I was suppose to fly. I did not have a phone charger for the car, I did not have winter clothes as this happened in October. It was the most frightening 6 hours of my life. As Semis were coming up behind me and beside me, the rental car just shook.
I passed many cars in the ditch, and I was a nervous wreck that if I end in an accident or in a ditch, I do not have enough battery on my cell phone to make a call. I refused to pay my hotel bill, and without an invoice, they took it upon themselves to bill my credit card. Wyndham and Travelodge should not be in the hospitality industry. I want every cent of my bill refunded. I have already filed bad reviews and complaints with many online avenues. I am going to be calling the hotel and travel associations. Hopefully you will lose business. I was told by Wyndham I have to deal with the property, when the horrid owner there did not return phone calls or e-mails. I am going to take further action against you.
