I was really put off after reading some of the reviews but pleasantly surprised when I thought I’d give it a go and setup our site. It took a couple of hours to set everything up with a bit of photo editing and writing out the schedule, travel advice etc. I’d definitely use a laptop to setup the site through the website the app is a bit more restrictive. For a wedding site, for sending invitations with RSVP management collecting food choices, FAQs etc it is perfect and looks really professional. The only negative is that like all the other sites there are charges by the payment providers to take cash out of your wedding fund - I don’t think there’s a way around that other than asking for bank transfer. But we decided it was fine as at least guests can leave a message and like any donation site it shows a list of donations. The very best think is the RSVP management and invite sending, so useful to see who’s opened the invite even if they haven’t replied. No issues with performance of the site or any issues sending emails etc so 5 stars from us 🙂

Incredibly long load times for sites and bugs meant I couldn't edit the pages after the first few days. Support was also terrible and slow.

I thought I'd try withjoy because it's free, but I guess it's free for a reason. It's not a good site. Hard to use, not user friendly, etc. And I have to ask – how are they making money? Those developers don't work for free. I don't trust what they are doing with my data.

We used WithJoy as our wedding site during the pandemic in July 2021. I found the site very easy to use and loved that I could customize it to look very classy, adding photos of our journey for everyone to see, RSVP questions, event details, etc. It was a one-stop information site for all our guests, and it was FREE! It certainly saved us from sending written invitations to everyone, especially when no one wanted that during a pandemic. I used the chat feature a couple times to ask questions and when no one was available on the chat to answer my questions, I received an email response within a day or so. Honestly, it was all we needed and we are very happy to have used it. I deducted 1 star because the app was not as user-friendly as the actual website. When I had to make certain modifications, I had to do it via the website. I think if they can improve the app to be as customizable as the website, I would give it 5-stars.

Whoever said 'pulling hair out' on the other reviews was right. I just want to email my guests but it won't send me the verification email. Doesn't let me log out either. All the timings have to be on the hour?! Pulling hair out.

Their customer service is nonexistent, and the website does not work 90% of the time. It looks nice but do not be deceived. It will make you want to pull your hair out planning an event. Unfortunately, I used it for my wedding and regretted ever signing up for it. Go with other mainstream platforms because there is nothing joyful about this horrible platform.

I wanted something other than TheKnot or WeddingWire, so I went on the search to find a different website and found WithJoy. It’s decent, but since it’s newer and a smaller company, the user experience wasn’t as smooth/well-oiled as I had hoped. Every time I came across an issue and asked their customer service about it, it just wasn’t something they had developed yet. I had toyed with the idea of switching website hosts - to something more mainstream - but by then I had already put in too much work. Pros: -Classy look. I’m sure the other websites can be customized too, but I just felt like with their curated selections, you ended up with something classy, yet personalized. -Inventive interactive features/website - most likely the other websites have this too, but I liked how I could change buttons, embed maps, link to another page, etc. -Corresponding app is nice. Cons: -Website would sometimes take forever to load - would just have to refresh or start over. My guests had this problem too. For the older guests, this was especially confusing for them. -They make it seem like you have to get the App to do things when you don’t. Other than being a bridal couple with this website, there is no reason to have the app. -They have a cool idea with their “Memories”/pictures App/Page, but realistically, guests don’t want to visit another site or download another app to load/view pics. -Some bugs with emailing - how I would format my emails and send via the site, it would not be received that way. -Some guests did not receive our email invitation - it probably went into their junk mail, which I suspect happens with other wedding websites too, but I wonder with more well-known sites whether it wouldn’t go into junk because of the name. If you want something different, simple, and nice, WithJoy works decently. If you want the ease of use and maybe more features, go with something more mainstream.
