In the quiz I stated I wanted to spend 5mins a day learning, however, the personalised plan has almost 16mins of videos per day on the first day!
Response from WiseyOct 17, 2024
Dear Rikki! Thank you for sharing your feedback. We apologize for the mismatch between your preferred learning time and the length of the videos in your personalized plan. Rob
I tried to focus on the information but was distracted by my thoughts. I found myself falling asleep for a few seconds, realized I missed something and rewound the videos and reread the text several times. I still don't feel I have absorbed it. The one thing that did turn on a lightbulb for me was that internal motivation was more effective than external motivation. I feel that my whole school life was externally motivated. The same goes for my 30 years I spent at work. There was very little feedback except for negative. Even learning the guitar was extremely difficult. It wasn't an expectation and should have been one of those internal motivation experiences but rarely did I achieve flow state. I do remember me night staying up much later than I should have when I had to get up early for work but had learned a song and it sounded and FELT wonderful. When I tried to replicate the feeling the next day, it was gone.
Response from WiseyOct 16, 2024
Dear Rob! Thank you for sharing your experience and insights. It sounds like you’ve had some powerful realizations about the role of internal vs. external motivation. It can be challenging when life has been so externally driven, and I understand how frustrating it is to try to focus and feel like you're missing key information. Rewinding videos and rereading text multiple times can be tiring, especially with distractions, but that lightbulb moment about motivation is an important step forward. If you'd like, we can suggest some strategies to help improve focus and retention during the learning process. Don't hesitate to reach out if you’d like further assistance or support as you continue your journey at [email protected]. We hope to hear from you soon!
