I found it very interesting to hear about differences in focus, attention, and (I forgot) 🤷🏼♀️ I wish I had known more about this during my 42 year career in public education. One of the main reasons I chose the career was that I did very well academically in school, but drove my teachers crazy, being interested in so many things, thus asking lots of questions- normal ones like Why? How? Did you notice you can also do it this way to get the right answer every time? I now suspect there were ego issues when my teachers didn't know the answer, but they also resented my talkative & multi-tasking ways. They were probably correct in pointing out that not all the students could listen to instruction while also explaining it in ways that helped classmates understand the teacher's point. However, it was SO rewarding to help other students learn and study with, sometimes with mnemonic aids or drawing pictures to supplement the language-based explanation, that I continued doing it in school, all 4 college degrees, and throughout my adult life so far.
