Loose loose situation. You buy wine from them and pay 17% premium plus tax and high shipping charges. You sell the same wine and again pay 9% commission plus 1% insurance. Wow!! Such a rip off!! Oh!! And they hold the fund for 30 days.😂

Good experience, but way higher then FMV
I've always had good experiences with Winebid with bidding and shipping. For lower priced wines under $300, you will still pay a premium through Winebid. But for higher priced collector wines, sellers set their minimum bid at current fair market value or slightly higher. In other words, sellers are really listing their wine for sale at current (or even higher) fair market value (which already considers the cost of auction fees). Tack on the Winebid 17% buyer fee and you're paying way more than professional auction houses who appropriately set starting bids lower....i.e., so it's an auction, not a sale plus 17%. Anyone who buys at Winebid for investment should seriously reconsider their thought process.

Counterfeit concern
I buy from winebid.com very often, maybe every week and expensive wines.
My concern is the counterfeit wines. I'm not saying that I have noticed anything wrong, but I'm concerned how good and how carefully their specialists are looking at the wines.
How do they make sure that the wine are legit?
Other than this concern,I'm happy with winebid..

I have had only a single (last!)…
I have had only a single (last!) experience with WineBid, buying from a couple of auctions and then arranging "temperature controlled" shipping.
The issue is that the wine came A WEEK EARLIER than they indicated when arranging shipping! Early is good, right? Not when you're out of the country and arranged a shipping date based on when they told me it would arrive.
I emailed them and it took DAYS to get a response while the wine sat in a hot warehouse baking. I asked for a refund and they said no because "the wine arrived when expected" except -- (i) the wine never arrived (it was undelivered and returned to sender), and (ii) it was expected a WEEK LATER.
"Molly" of customer service was neither understanding nor polite.
Some of the wine in the shipment was 50 years old so shipping conditions and timeliness matter. But apparently those things (and customers) don't matter much to Wine Bid.
I have been buying a lot from them for over a year already, 99% of the bottles have arrived in perfect conditions and as described. I think they have amazing capabilities and features like, high resolution photos for each bottle, accurate descriptions, and professional scores with notes, value and sales prices history. You can sort your searches by scores, popularity, do a price range, country, regions, style, you named it. But what I’m more impress with is their costumer services. I have interacted with a couple of people there and they always find the way to help, my favorite contact is Debbie, so far there has been NOTHING that she can’t fix, she has always made it right even in the most strangest situation created by myself (errors).

Great experience. I have purchased at least 30 bottles since joining
It’s a great experience when you consider you can find wine on this site that you can’t find anywhere else or at stupid prices I only buy wine that I can’t find anywhere else and yes you can Lose on a last second Sunday night bid , you can also win the same way. They now have overtime bidding which allows you to up your bid after the close of the auction. . Shipping has been prompt and reasonable.I have bought many bottles for substantially less than if you bought it from a winery or at retail. Look at prices on wine.com and compare to this site. It’s not retail, it’s an auction. You lose some you win some. The enjoyable part is when you get a great bottle or a hard to find wine at a discounted price. 17% is their fee. Business needs to make money and that’s part of it. Calculate that into your bidding decision. I bought a Schrader RBS for $100 less than wine.com. I was thrilled when I won. I have lost several hard to find wines on the last second bid. It’s frustrating but you can also bid up to an amount your are comfortable spending. If it’s beyond your limit then kudos to the person that wanted that wine. Overall a good experience and really enjoyable to win a hard to find bottle.

Finding that special bottle to share with family or friends or filling out your wine collection with a hard to find bottle are just some of what our customers appreciate about WineBid. Overtime Bidding, which you mention, is our latest new feature but we're always working on more innovations to our features and services to make the customer experience engaging. Experienced Customer of Winebid
I have been buying on Winebid for over 5 years. I am certain I have bought over 400 bottles. I believe only one of the bottles was skunked. I have used their filters to create my favorites, and enjoy looking at the weekly updates. Knowing the buyers premium is part of the cost, I have found numerous bottles at 50% off retail or more. Now when you bid it advise you of the premium and the only hidden cost is shipping ($5/bottle). I think it is a fabulous site. Separately a close friend of mine died, and his wife had no interest in his Wine cellar. Numerous local lowball quotes from retailers resulted in me pointing her to WineBid. She sold over 700 bottles and netted well over 2x what her best local offer was. I think the site is fabulous.
