FOR GODS SAKE DON'T USE ACH MONEY TRANSFERS!
I submitted wine for sale to Winebid (WB) stipulating that the proceeds of any sale, less commission, would be released to me, the Seller “approximately 30 business days after the close of the corresponding auction” via Automated Clearing House (ACH) transfer to my designated Bank. My first two (2) Settlements 12/2025 and 1/2026 were NOT deposited to my account in a timely manner and so I was initially instructed by WB to contact my Bank which I did and informed WB that the funds had not been received by my Bank. I was told by WB that I would get a call back from “Angela in WB Accounting” which did not occur. This led to multiple telephone calls between me and WB as well as my Bank and about 148 email messages to and from WB regarding this issue between 2/17 and 5/28/2026 in addition to additional emails to my Bank. Ultimately, paper checks were issued on 4/28/2026 almost 2 ½ months AFTER the Settlement dates. While I understand that errors may happen with any transaction, I was disturbed by the nonchalant and dismissive attitude of the WB Accounting team, who were impossible for me to contact and appeared to be evasive. They promised to call me and never did and foisted all the work tracking down these missing $6140 ACH transfers onto me. It would have been straightforward for WB to simply search using their accounting software or their Silicon Valley Bank account for the exact dollar amount of these two transactions to see if these funds had been redeposited into their account in February, which does not appear to have occurred. Finally, I had requested a telephone call or Zoom meeting with the CFO of WineBid via emails on May 4, May 27 and June 4, 2026 to discuss my concerns with no response... other than that it was fine.
