Disrespectful customer service
I'm a R.N. and have been shopping at Whole Foods for myself and my family for over 10 years. Yesterday, Memorial Day I was on a hike and stopped into Whole Foods on the way home. I had on my old sweatshirt, and baseball cap. I was going to buy makeup/facial products but while standing in the isle an employee saw me and noisily stood by me moving things around on the shelf, obviously watching me for theft. I read labels but could not continue with the distraction and insult so continued on with shopping without buying what I walked in for. I used self check out. The person "helping us" ran over when the scanner made a beep. I was buying avocados and she counted them in front of me after I told her how many there were as if I was stealing them. She told me an alternative way to scan them instead of using the bar code. This interaction was not friendly or productive, it was accusatory. When done I accidentally scanned a product already purchased. I called your employee over to alert her and explained. Again, she asked me if I had bought it, and seemed to be confronting me. She re-questioned if I had bought it even though I had already checked out. I know I was not well groomed yesterday, but to have your employees treat me as if I'm going to steal was very insulting. I was actually tearful when I got to my car. I have spent over 60,000 at Whole Foods and this is not an exaggeration. I go to Whole Foods to shop for my groceries and for specialty items mainly/salmon/cheese/dog food. I am going to find these items at smaller stores where the employees know me and are respectful no matter if I'm dressed nice or have been out on a hike. I have worked as a nurse manager and have respect for employees and value their work, I also know the value of respecting the client.
