Luxury Rules, below poverty standards…BIG FISH RENTAL
Staying in rental propertly, owned by BIg FISH RENTALs.. read this. Luxury Rules, below poverty standards… I stayed at a privately owned (BIG FISH RENTALS), one bedroom Camelot townhouse from 7/27-7/29. Candidly speaking, it was the most disgusting and uncomfortable travel experience I have ever encountered. I found this place through a google search, as I had a mini vacation to Myrtle Beach scheduled. It was too late at this point, but I initially felt weird/sketchy vibes from BIG FISH RENTAL after I officially booked the room and immediately received an email with an extensive and very detailed number of rules and regulations. Now, as a business owner myself, I completely understand the need for rules and regulations, but I honestly didn’t know if I applied for a job or paid for a “home, away from home”. Take a few moments to review some of the rules: “ A $100 fee will be charged for unaccounted-for linens. , Please DO NOT bring luggage carts into the room, they damage the walls and doors of our condos and we will charge you for the repairs., As a reminder, please do not stain our sheets/linens, comforters, or towels as YOU WILL BE CHARGED., DO NOT USE SINKS/BATHTUBS TO WASH OFF SAND. SAND CLOGS DRAINS, USE OUTSIDE SHOWERS FOR REMOVING SAND PRIOR TO ENTERING CONDO., Please spread out wet towels and shower curtains to dry, this will eliminate mold and mildew problems, Please leave sheets on the beds, cleaners will remove these, Turn off all lights and televisions -Clean out the fridge with any leftover perishable food -Please remove trash from the condo - Please do not take any items from the condo that are not yours - YOU WILL BE CHARGED - Please do not leave any items that you have brought on the balcony or closets (floats, beach chairs, etc) - PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU LOCK THE DOOR! - PLEASE CLEAN UP EXCESSIVE TRASH, YOU WILL BE CHARGED EXTRA CLEANING FEES IF EXCESSIVE” Sounds like I just booked a room at the Ritz-Carlton, right? The “Welcome” email did not make me feel welcomed, at all. I actually got a sense of anxiety, as it prompted me to feel and think that I needed to live as a tiny little mouse for a place I paid $500 for (2-night stay; $250 per night). Low and below, this townhouse was ridiculously outdated, dirty, and in serious need of a deep cleaning and renovations. My Aunt, who has worked in Hotel Hospitality for over 30 years, mentioned the room would never pass any of her inspections. After our internal review, we felt more comfortable buying our own sheets and towels. There was hair, dirt, & mold everywhere. The funniest thing I encountered was a text from Julie, reminding me to not lose any of her towels. Julie, did you mean the same towels we found hair on (LOL)? I could go on and go, but my time is very valuable. Long story short, stay at the Island Vista Resort when visiting this area. Secondly, I will post this review in multiple places; Everyone needs to know about this. BIG FISH RENTALS’s Whimstay reviews are quite decent but could very well be staged. After reading their Google reviews, I see that I’m not the only patron who feels this way. BIG FISH, do better please.
