Paper used is too thin, but pic of my dog is cute.
My beloved dog Dany died unexpectedly on August 29, 2022. A few days later I ordered a large framed portrait of her. I wasn’t impressed that they don’t offer a proof service, but I decided to roll the dice. It took forever to ship, but it was an accurate representation of my Baby Dog. However, the extremely thin paper on which the portrait was printed was all “rippled” beneath the plexiglass. Looked awful and cheap. There was also a few flaws on the white background… small splotches of colour where there shouldn’t be. I contacted customer service and sent images of the issues. They agreed to send a replacement, which I initially thought was great. However, the replacement was worse than the original. The splotches of colour on the white background had been fixed (mostly), but the thin paper was rippled very badly. Looked even cheaper than the first one. Contacted customer service again, and this time they offered me a “free” digital download of my portrait. I have already spent more than $150 on this sub-par portrait, and their solution is for me to spend more money printing the image myself? What sort of ridiculousness is this? Edit: Company reached out to me and gave me a full refund for the portrait I purchased, which I very much appreciated. I will be purchasing the digital download from them instead of another print. I feel that the paper on which the printing is done is far too susceptible to changes in moisture. Given that my portrait was coming to Canada from California, the paper just couldn't handle the trip. The quality of the image itself was never the issue. It is a very cute/accurate pic of my dog. So I will be using the money that was refunded to me, and the digital image I purchased, to get something printed locally for display in my home.
