You Asked For It
I'm sure watchco.com is a fine company, and their little program here of encouraging feedback is designed to help them improve. Great! However, you've got the wrong guy. I was hunting for a watch and had a lot of trouble finding it! But find it on watchco.com I did, yes! So I ordered it. Hurray! The next day, I got an email saying that they did not actually have the watch in stock. And the funds I used to order the thing would be tied up for a couple of days. Not cool in any way! You should disable the pages of out of stock inventory to prevent people who find such pages on Google and hit them directly from ordering. And holding my money for even a minute after no sale was made is lame. Finally, you've sent me an email thanking me for my "recent purchase", reminding me of the whole unfortunate experience, and after I had successfully put it out of my mind, with no intention of writing anything like this here, or anywhere else. WTG. But like I said, I'm sure that, if you buy a watch they actually have and are able to sell it to you, everyone will be happy.
Response from WatchCo.comAug 6, 2015
Hi Alan, I am sorry about the experience you had with us! The page you saw was indeed disabled, but was an old cached page of our site that search engines tend to keep active. This is especially true when you are looking long and far for a discontinued watch. We never accepted the funds, nor did we tie them up. That would be your credit card company doing that. We never have access to any of your funds until the watch is shipped. I am not sure why TrustPilot sent you the recent purchase email when no purchase has been made, though--they still have not given us a response on that. If there is anything I can do to make up for this unfortunate occurrence, say the word so we can make it happen for you. :) Thanks, Alan!!
