I cannot recommend Walther
I cannot recommend Walther based on my experience. My P22 suffered a catastrophic slide failure that sent debris back toward my face. The slide cracking and failing on P22 pistols is a well-documented issue that has been discussed by owners for years, which makes the experience even more concerning. What disappointed me most was not just the failure itself, but how the situation was handled afterward. My slide was at Walther for weeks. At one point, communication was so poor that it seemed like nobody even knew where my slide was. I was also waiting on a captured guide spring with very little information about what was happening or when anything would be resolved. Not once did anyone ask if I was injured or even if I was okay after a firearm failure that occurred close to my face. That lack of concern spoke volumes. To make matters worse, representatives did not even seem to know basic details about the firearm they had in their possession, including the color of the replacement slide. That did not inspire confidence that my case was being handled carefully or professionally. Firearms manufacturers should treat safety incidents with urgency, clear communication, and genuine concern for the customer. In my experience, Walther failed on all three. The P22 slide failure was bad enough. The customer service experience afterward was what convinced me not to buy another Walther product.
