Today I went to this pharmacy 1378 Miner St. Des Plaines, IL 60016, and they refused to help me, I have cancer, diabetes, heart problem, kidney problem, my doctor prescribed Dexcom G7 to monitor my blood sugar, because I am taking Chemo and Radiation, and this cause my blood sugar go very high 500-600, but the pharmacy refused to help me, explaining how to use this new machine even the pharmacy told me, when I said that I can't use it, they said "Okay, through it at the garbage," I am surprised how this kind of pharmacist has a license and seward to help the patients? They told me exactly," Go Google it, or go to YouTube and learn how to use it." I want the whole world to know what kind of pharmacy this is.
I don't think that they got their salary to make the patients Google everything. This is not the first incident that happened in this pharmacy; they always mix the medications, make mistakes, and one of the ladies there is really mean and rude. Every time I go there, I have to go to another pharmacy to ask them about my medications, and I don't feel well going there.

Phone Rep Purgatory & Script Never In Stock
Over and over again I’ve had the issue of having a prescription get delayed with “action needed, call the pharmacy.” and I almost always never ended up with my prescription in the end. not because of insurance, but because i would be sent in circles between different phone representatives and would have to repeat everything to the new rep, only to be put on hold AGAIN. I’ve also had prescriptions that were CONSISTENTLY out of stock and would ultimately end up missing my dose because of it. They need more staffing with more training on the job and prior to hiring!!

Ordering off Walgreen's website is…
Ordering off Walgreen's website is risky and frustrating when they fail to fulfill purchases. Their website obfuscates any attempt to recover losses... no responses are forthcoming. beware of their ant-customer ethology when it comes to problem resolutions when they fail to deliver items purchased off website. Their website section for customer service ala seeking problem resolution is is an obfuscating... frustrating.... experience with no positive outcome.. by apparent design.

Walgreens Hire racist staff especially pharmacy staff against Black people and the are not qualified to work with medications
Update 5/11/26. Another "0" rating. I made a trip to Walgreens and myself and another young lady who happened to be Black arrived early. Dr. Chow came in and two employees: one black and one white. Dr. Chow spoke. The two young ladies did not. After they opened, they young lady who was cashier was talking to the other younglady. A white man entered and the younglady cashier, who was White asked how to help him. I stood up and told her "no". The other Black younglady responded that "we are dealing with this today". My question dealing with what racism, dealing with unprofessionalism, dealing with unqualified or properly educated people. Dealing with what. The other Black younglady and I had been there. The cashier, with much attitude serviced me. I have seen this at both Walgreens I have been to in Memphis. There has to be a culture of this treatment of Black people. I can only say what is true. On another latest. I called about a prescription and Dr. Chow, instead of checking to see if my prescription I had ordered in the app was on hold. He was blatantly telling me to call the worst Walgreens. I told him to pull up my record and see that the prescription was on hold until needed. I what world does a customer has to tell a qualified pharmacist to look to see a prescription on hold until needed. Then the manager Ms. Ethel had the nerve to call me to ask only if I received my prescription trying to negate the problem of having to wait on hold with my insurance company to show their inadequacies, and the lack of professionalism and training, but have yet to apologize for the ignorance I have had to deal with or acknowledge it. She attempted to gaslight, but no way. Well, she is evidence that it is a Walgreens culture. THEY DON'T CARE. But praise God, I am here to stay until they decide to start from scratch and do a complete do over with qualified, non-racist or biased employees. I found out that a boycott is in the making by another group as but I am starting a petition. I have heard from Corporate but it was generic. It doesn't take three capitalist execs to call me and tell one lie. So we shall see. I did speak with the state and emailed with the TN Pharmacy Board. Just waiting to see next moves.*** I would give "0" if I could. There are so many things Walgreens does wrong and two things I have finally found they have done right. First, until they close their stores and stop preying on Black people, the elderly, less fortunate, they will hear from me. I have seen and been the recipient of this treatment, but called it out. Corporate are Liars and capitalist. They only care about money. I have witnessed out right disrespect for the less fortunate and elderly from pharmacy staff and cashiers. What I realized is that Walgreens does not pay enough for the best of the crop. From the pharmacist to the techs. They are not trained, educated people. What I can't get over is how have they been able to continue to operate in Memphis TN. Are they paying off city and state leaders and Boards? I don't know, but I am on a path to answer these questions. The elderly and less fortunate deserve the best, but from those who care. I am going to fight Walgreens, and they will do right by me, but I would not recommend anyone shop or go there. Medication, not ready when needed or the wrong medication one person I spoke with said. Shipments of pertinent medication late while customers wait for days. Why exist if you are not going to do it right. Get out of town and let those who care. I would recommend people go to CVS. When I have dealt with Walgreens and they are not harming people, I am going back to CVS. But unlike many, I can speak up, out and yes boycott and protest against them. Even looking into what legally can be done to pay for the damages they have caused people. Now to the only two people I have come in contact with at Walgreens at Popular and Reese in Memphis are Mrs. Beverly a cashier who is professional and efficient. Alex a pharmacy cashier is friendly, and approachable. These two needed to find companies that reflect their levels of customer service. Mrs. Beverly hotel concierge. Alex to school to become a pharmacist. Both are the best. I left one Walgreens because the store was horrible and I almost called the cops because of elderly abuse I witnessed. Again, leave Walgreens. Start your way NOW at CVS. We will see what my letters to the local news and the State Board of Pharmacy have to say this time. Then there is also the community. When communities stand against Capitalistm things change. It's time to get organized. Dr. Georgia Session

In the last 2 months there has been a…
In the last 2 months there has been a problem with the pharmacy. Last month, I went to get multiple prescriptions that was ready for pickup. When I went to got it, they had sent one back/put on shelf. I was within the 10 days to pick up. They offered me 1 dose for the week until they could reorder. It takes days to get this in, it is not the typical next day order. This month, I received a call at 4:53 pm that they forgot to put the controlled substance along with the other prescriptions that can only be picked up on the 30 day mark when it is due. I raced over there to get it for the morning. Well, they close at 5 on Sundays. They did not tell me that at 4:53. That makes 2 mistakes! Then I opened the bag at home. There is another prescription missing. This is kept in the refrigerator. This is the same medication that they put back or sent back last month for the same reason! They forgot to give it at pick up. Today will make trip #3 to get all the prescriptions that were to be picked up in 1 Trip. Very very unhappy with Walgreen pharmacy. It really bothers me that they made a mistake and yet I have to work around their mistake to go back to the pharmacy. In other words, I pay the consequences for their mistake and they do not.

Issue with pharmacy staff at colonie walgreens
I am writing to formally express my concern regarding a recent interaction I had with your pharmacy staff- she stated her name was Danni. Danni was extremely rude and condescending- it felt like she was trying to push some authority on me. This is at the Walgreens location: 1850 Central ave in Colonie, Ny.
I was treated in a manner that I found to be unprofessional and dismissive when attempting to refill my prescription. In addition, I was informed that my medication would not be filled if I came to pick it up, which was both confusing and concerning.
I was told that my prescription is on a 30-day schedule and that it could not be filled until tomorrow, as that would be considered “day 30.” As the last prescription was picked up the morning of March 18- due to it not being ready the day before, their error and today is April 16th, based on my understanding and records, today is in fact day 30. This discrepancy was not clearly explained, and the tone used during the interaction was discourteous.
Additionally, this is not the first time I have experienced an issue with timely refills. Last month, my prescription was also not filled on time, which has created an ongoing pattern of inconvenience and concern.
As a patient relying on timely access to prescribed medication, this situation caused unnecessary stress and inconvenience. I would appreciate clarification on your refill policy, as well as assurance that staff communication with customers.

Walgreens there is barely no employee
Walgreens barely has any employees. They're short-staffed all the time. They never answer the phone. When I went through the drive-thru, they couldn't take care of me, so I had to go inside. Horrible and sad—this pharmacy is so disorganized. I never thought I would see Walgreens like this. If there is a store manager, he should get fired. He's not doing his job.
