VNYLReviews of vnyl.org

I unknowingly paid VNYL $39 a month for 28 months and never used the service once. Their own records confirm that I had no authenticated logins, no interaction with Account Settings, and no membership activity during that entire period. When I discovered the charges and contacted them, VNYL refused to refund the unused membership fees. Their solution was to convert $1,092 of unused membership value into store credit. To be fair, I later regained access to the old email address associated with the account and confirmed that VNYL had been sending renewal and reminder emails there. I am not claiming they failed to send notices. What I am saying is that this company looked at an account that had been completely inactive for nearly three years, confirmed there had been no logins or use, and still decided that keeping more than a thousand dollars was an acceptable outcome. The store credit would be easier to swallow if their selection were remotely compelling. It is not. I found the catalog extremely underwhelming, which makes $1,092 in VNYL credit feel like a particularly hollow resolution. They repeatedly cited their Terms of Service and described the account as “unattended” rather than inaccessible. TERRIBLE company.

Other reviewers describing as a parasitic company pretending to cater to music lovers are absolutely correct. To be clear, I did receive records in the mail, after navigating their unbelievably confusing and unhelpful website. But the records were completely unrelated to the things I'd asked them to find, and were also not very good. It is impossible to cancel your subscription online, and the provided phone number goes to an AI-generated voice recording that garbles the necessary information it pretends to provide.

Worst vinyl record buying experience I’ve ever had. Had a one year 3 record a month subscription. Nothing close to what I told them I liked and or was looking for. What was sent are a bunch of duds that no one has on their want list. At least 3 duplicate titles shipped. No way to return them. Should have read the reviews before signing up. What an expensive mistake

Most horrible experience. Don't fall for this. The process to get your monthly vinyl sent to you is not smooth and the albums they sent me are absolutely horrible. I have provided a lot of information on my taste of music and the albums they sent me don't correlate with my taste of music at all. I have cancelled my membership before the year is over (and forfeited the money), because I don't want to risk that they start charging monthly membership fee.

Scam subscription service who is only in business from people not being able to cancel there accounts hoping people don't see the charge. Received one vinyl the whole time i supposedly had this service and yes i filled out my "tastes". You are only able to cancel it via email and despite me requesting them cancel my account they did not and i received another 100 dollar charge 3 months later. Charging it back again and now feeling obligated to leave reviews warning people DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE IT IS A SCAM!!

This place is terrible. I redeemed a gift card for Vnyl that I had received for christmas. Unbeknownst to me, they have been charging me for a membership every month at $99. I never signed up for an ongoing membership. Even worse, the gift certificate should've provided 3 records for 3 months - a total of know. I've only received 6 records and the records they selected a pretty bad. Long story short - this is a rip off. And if they do actually send you records, be prepared to be dissappointed.

These reviews are missing the point, i LOVED the service, it feels very hand-crafted, and i loved the little handwritten letter I got with it! So cute! I enjoyed about 95% of the albums i received and I really loved how all of the albums i got were colored vinyl. Yes, it was a little slow but I am patient and enjoyed getting them scattered throughout my year. (also it wasn't THAT slow, maybe like 1 & a 1/2 ish months per 3 albums) Some people are so negative with these harsh reviews! love what you guys do at this company, keep up the good work!

I asked for a gift subscription to VNYL, as I was under the impression the service was for down-to-earth people who are passionate about music. Instead, they "curated" some high school band's crappy album from 20 years ago, that has no relation to my musical interests at all. Even worse, the note included with the record had no mention of the band, their genre or style, their influences, etc. Instead they wrote about the ironic and vintage house the band lived in during the recording.... Absolute hipster drivel nonsense. FYI just because you work at a record store doesn't mean you know anthing about music.
