Rakuten VikiReviews of viki.com

Very poor. Bought today through google and now can not logged in after some issued. Cheap and nasty, not like netflix and prime. Now might take 24-48 hour to respond with a lot of pain probably. Tried to cancelled after 10 minutes with issued, can not be refunded, instead cancelled after 27 Dec 2020. Wow !!!!!

December 18,2019 This is what happens when you choose to cut corners give unreliable service, false advertising, making your customers believe it is a privilege to wait till you find volunteers to subtitle your shows. Waiting as long as two months before subtitles show up on a program. You have just gotten your notice either put up or shut up. Netflix has just signed a contract with Korean network JTBC to start streaming k drama did I mention with subtitles. Also they have signed with Seoul -based Dragon Studio again with subtitles. So Viki Rakuten it is about time to separate the grown up from the kids, put on your big girl panties either step up to your loyal customers and give the service they deserve and I might add pay for or step aside. It is time to handle your business.

People seem to complain a lot about Viki because you have to "Pay" for most of the shows/movies on there but it cost less than Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc. If you like Asian dramas then it's worth getting the pass to watch as many as you want. I haven't had to contact them because everything has been great from my side, I do mostly watch on my computer/laptop and rarely on my phone so maybe there is an issue there? I don't find it's slow at all unless I've been on the same tab for hours but that happens on any website. I just refresh the page and it's back to streaming normally. When you buy a year subscription I'm sure it says that it's non-refundable so people should take more care into reading the agreement/contract because if you look over it then you're at fault as the company has stated their conditions.Especially if you're buying a year, please read the conditions carefully. They even state that plans will differ depending on your region but that's common for every other website as well. There's different laws and licenses for each country and it's unfair to expect them to have everything unlocked everywhere. No website can do that. Waiting for subs can be annoying but there's a separate team of subbers for each tv show/movie so it's not Viki themselves who are doing it but subbers who are doing it for the benefit for others and are doing it for free. But honestly, you can't always expect foreign shows to have subtitles right away, it's unnecessary and privileged. If you want to know everything they're saying then learn the language. Viki does have an international audience so maybe they should handle the subtitles on their videos but since the fans are willing to do it, why would they add that expense? They are a business trying to make as much profit as possible just like every other company out there. I'm happy with my experience and would totally recommend it. I believe the subbing teams work hard and people don't have to subtitle videos but they do so I'm very appreciative of that.

I used to enjoy Viki. But now, they are so slow with subtitles that I just don't know if it's worth it anymore. In addition, as someone said below there are so many dramas available online or now on Netflix that they really need to step up their game or just shut down.

Bad experiences with Viki. Has really bad company policies, incredibly overpriced, lags, video comments are overrun with people arguing. More like a rip off. Just not what it used to be, and not worth it.

Very slow.... it was acceptable for a while, but they installed a new software update, and now it really sucks! Put yourself together, or I will cancel my subscription. I really enjoyed watching movies in your site, but Netflix is much better.

cmon viki yall can do better my shows keep stopping and saying corrupt or something and i cant watch half the shows cause its not available in my region lmfao

I love Viki, I use it on the daily on my phone, smart tv, iPad etc. but there are a View things I dislike. 1. New update has you scrolling from the top every time you click on a show and go back. Before you can scroll for a show and when you hit back, it’ll go back to the same spot you left on. Annoying 2. It doesn’t allow multiple log ins. If I log in on my phone; it’ll log me out of my tv, etc. 3. It doesn’t save my last episode from the show I’m watching. This is the most annoying update because if I watch on my phone then go home to watch from my tv, I have to search my episode and go to the time I left off on. 4. When fast forwarding, there should be a display of what scene your fast forwarding to. Similar to Netflix. 5. My tv doesn’t show the folder I created on my phone. I have all my saved shows on my phone but on my tv, there’s nothing. Also updating on the tv is almost non existent. Those are my cons with Viki. I wish they would bring back drama fever or Asian crush had more to choose from but Viki should take these reviews to heart.
