Have been using VerbalPlanet for my son’s French lessons for several months now. We found a great teacher right off the bat (thanks to the review system) and are still going strong. Booking system is easy to use. Good service - no problems. Thanks!

Verbal Planet is an excellent resource. Scheduling is easy. Many tutors are available in widely spoken languages and you can definitely find a good match. My classes are each based in conversation over topics I bring like marine biology and native american cultures, besides the usual weather and food (which are important). One tutor sends exercises to practice reading and writing outside class. Another has me write short texts that we correct together a bit at a time. Every tutor is respectful and ready to answer questions, not to mention being experienced teaching their language. It's a great value and there has been terrific progress over nine months.

My current tutor is very good. She is friendly and very competent and always gives prompt ratings. The thing that is lacking, I think, is a well-defined plan to improve my French e.g. "Glen, this where you're making regular mistakes. I recommend that you work on the following. Here is a link". Sometimes, particularly if the hour is late, we're left struggling a little for topics to discuss.
