I've booked through Vacations To Go several times over the years and have never had an issue with their booking service. The only reason I'm giving them 2 stars instead of a higher rating is because of the travel insurance company they strongly promote, Generali Global Assistance. I purchased the travel insurance for peace of mind, but when I missed my cruise because of significant flight delays, the experience became a nightmare. I provided proof that my flights were delayed, yet Generali continues to deny my claim and refuses to honor the coverage I paid for. Vacations To Go should be ashamed to recommend and sell insurance from a company that treats its customers this way. When you trust their recommendation, you expect them to stand behind the companies they partner with. Instead, customers are left paying for insurance that, in my experience, does not deliver when it's needed most. I will never use Vacations To Go for booking cruises, and definitely will never purchase the travel insurance they recommend again, and I encourage others to research their insurance options carefully before buying.

Firstly, the agent I booked my 1st cruise with was never there when I needed him and I had to ask for a specialist. Then a friend referred me to another agent who took over and booked my transfer from the airport to port. At no time did either agent say my cruise did not include gratuities! My quote stated the cost included ALL CHARGES AND FEES. After the cruise, I was charged by MSC for gratuities. I told my agent and she said she would look into it. I didn't hear back so I called VTG and spoke to a Paolo. He got MSC on the phone and said I'd have to tell them about it. I so you aren't going to help me at all? And he said NO! He said I should have looked at the fine print on the confirmation. Well it was my 1st cruise and I didn't look at the fine print because I went by what the quote said including the amount due on the confirmation. MSC refunded me the money even though it wasn't their fault. I called VTG back and spoke to a mgr who apologized for Paolo's rudeness and said if I ever have any questions I could call her. Well I tried going online to look at booking my next cruise but I was PROHIBITED FROM VIEWING THE CRUISES OR NAVIGATING ANYTHING ON THEIR WEBSITE! So I called and each time I was told I'd have to talk to the Vice President! Who? They transferred me to an extension of someone who I will not name and she turned out to be the VP of customer service not the VP of the company. She never returned my calls and neither did the manager who told me I could call her back at any time. I was essentially "barred" from the travel agency. I would not recommend this company to anyone. I submitted a complaint to the BBB and they have contacted VTG and it will stay on their record.

Everything was okay until I started checking out the cost of their insurance. They used a company called Generali Global Assistance. To cover just the cost of the cruise($8000.00) the premium was $1308.00. This was through the travel agent Vacations To Go. BIG MISTAKE! I went through the Generali website and by applying directly the cost was $462.00 for a standard plan. Do not buy the insurance through VTG. Trying to get a refund but I'm not hopeful. Feel genuinely ripped off.

Habíamos hecho unas 3/4 reservas con VTG y bien. Para navidades queríamos hacer una reserva de un crucero y encontramos una oferta y para nuestra sorpresa ya no nos contesto nuestro agente Alberto con el que estábamos muy satisfechos estos años, sino una chica llamada Karina informándonos que a partir de ahora será nuestra agente ya que Alberto lamentablemente ya no trabajaba para VTG, hasta ahi, bueno pues de acuerdo que le vamos a hacer... La sorpresa viene cuando le pedimos que nos reserve una oferta que sabíamos que volaria y NO nos contesto el correo al solicitar la reserva, al cabo de unos 3 días nos comenta que tenia dias libres y por eso no contestaba pero evidentemente la oferta ya se había perdido..Y nos hemos visto obligados a cambiar planes de navidad por falta de comunicación con la agente. Para buscarnos la vida nos fuimos a la web oficial de MSC y contratamos el servicio allá, mucho mas caro pero nos fuimos de vacaciones de navidad por nuestra cuenta. Lo mejor es que una semana mas tarde le escribimos para preguntar por una oferta de enero y nos salta automáticamente un mensaje que Karina esta de vacaciones hasta la facha "x"..Llamamos a at. al cliente para cambiar de agente ya que la nuestra asignada nunca esta disponible para nosotros cosa a la que estábamos acostumbrados con Alberto nuestro antiguo agente y la solución que nos ofrecen es que sienten mucho lo sucedido pero no pueden hacer nada y una vez que se asigna un agente es el que te toca y no se puede cambiar. Pues nos veremos obligados a dejar de ser clientes VTG por no estar mas satisfechos con el servicio.

The Trip description from Silver Spirit (south Afrika) Travel doesn‘t reflect the actuel experience. Bad destinations aren‘t mentioned. The service immediately after booking leaves a lot to be desired. The company dissappears when it comes to complaints. It wasn‘t a good experience.

Like any consolidator, they get you in and then forget you. After booking a cruise I had a question about the some of the details. I was told to contact the company. Later I found that I could get a better price directly from the Cruise operator. Customer service knows how to be polite without helping you. You are not getting a bargain.

We were set up on a snorkel trip thru Vacation to go, while waiting for 2 hours on the dock for another cruise ship to dock, I called to get my money back and leave the excursion but keep getting put on hold. No one could help me so would not recommend this service at all. So went on trip but still cut the trip short because we did not have enough time.

I am giving vacationstogo.com 2 stars for the helpful information of their website. Otherwise there would be zero stars. 15 years ago their travel agents were excellent. This time around it was a truly dismal experience. The agent was not interested in my own needs and list. He kept pushing Broadway shows on a cruise line that I had no interest in. He pushed his interests but failed to listen to mine. When I remembered that a few years back that Porthole Magazine awarded cruises.com (with an "s") top cruise agent, I called and went with them - they are the stellar ones. I was SO glad I did not go with vacationstogo - so crummy, so dismal. They don't care.
