Every release uploaded to our platform undergoes audio fingerprinting analysis via industry standard tools. Both of the tracks in question from your account, "Serotonin" and "Skyline Siege", returned an extremely high likelihood of AI-usage, with Suno identified as the likely source. This failure was provided to you via a support ticket. Combined with your AI generated visuals among other flags, our human reviewers decided that this was not eligible for YouTube Content ID and needed supporting documentation regarding the creation process. YouTube sets the eligibility requirements for Content ID, not Unchained Music. We are unable to deliver content to Content ID that does not meet YouTube's policies, which explicitly prohibit AI-generated material. This isn't a limitation we chose to hide as it's a platform-wide requirement enforced by YouTube itself. To be clear, your account, your subscription, and your access to all other features of the plan remain fully intact. The limitation applies only to Content ID eligibility for these specific releases. If these tracks were genuinely produced by you, this is straightforward to resolve. A screen recording of your DAW session showing the original project files would allow us to review the decision. Our AI Statement (unchainedmusic.io/legal/ai-statement) explains in detail why we hold AI-generated content to an ethical standard and how we enforce that standard. These policies are not hidden as they are linked in the footer of the website, and you agree to the content policy at both the time of setup of your account, as well as at the point of distribution when you attempt to release music. We take this approach specifically to protect the artists and creators on our platform from being overshadowed by non-compliant or mass-generated content. Regarding your refund request our policy is that refunds are issued when an error has been made on our side or you have not used the services. This is also available in our Terms of Service and our FAQ prior to signup. In this case, you attempted to release content that did not meet the published requirements, and therefore were not entitled to a refund. While we understand that can be frustrating, we don't believe it's unreasonable to ask that users review the platform's requirements before committing to a subscription. Regarding the copyright flag on your release, we use industry-standard audio fingerprinting software, which is the same technology used across the distribution industry. When a release is flagged, it is then reviewed by a human member of our team. We do not use AI in our review process. A flag based on matching metadata or audio fingerprints doesn't mean we're claiming you sampled something; it means the system identified a match that requires verification, which is a responsibility we take seriously to protect our platform, our artists, and the DSPs we deliver to. This was made clear to you after the flag was raised. As for the timeline on your single, the only scenario in which a release would be delayed for that length of time is a failure to provide the requested documentation on your end. When a release is flagged, we're required to collect supporting documentation before we can proceed as this is a standard step to protect against copyright and fraud issues across the platform. Delays in providing that documentation directly impact the release timeline. On the $15 minimum payout threshold for major currencies, this is well below the minimums set by most distributors across the industry, and it is clearly outlined in our FAQ prior to signup. Hi Lucas, We’re happy to clarify what happened. Our system flagged the releases because the audio appears to have been generated using Suno, as you provided a license as such. At this time, Suno and similar AI music generation platforms are not eligible for monetization or distribution through our platform because their training datasets have not been publicly disclosed or verified as licensed. As outlined in our Content Policy, AI-generated or AI-assisted audio can only be distributed through our system when the AI model used has published its training data and confirmed that the material used to train the model is properly licensed. This policy is in place to protect artists, distributors, DSPs, and rights holders from potential copyright claims related to AI training datasets. Even if content generated through a platform like Suno is already available elsewhere or being played online, we cannot distribute or monetize content created with models whose training data has not been verified. Our support team was in contact with you, explained this clearly and outlined the appropriate next steps based on your release status. After receiving that information, you directed abusive language toward our team. We take this seriously and do not condone or tolerate abusive or disrespectful communication toward our staff under any circumstances. To clarify for completeness: —If a track has never been released, it can be uploaded as a new release and an ISRC will be issued as part of the process. —If a track has been released previously, the existing ISRC must be provided to ensure proper rights management, reporting, and continuity across DSPs. Clearly fairly trained by the projects disclosing training data and compensating artists for the use of their music in training or 2.) Certified by https://www.fairlytrained.org/certified-models Unchained Music allows AI-assisted music to be uploaded, but only under specific conditions that ensure artistic integrity, proper licensing, and compliance with our distribution partners. Your music must show clear human creative involvement, such as arrangement, editing, or performance. Fully machine-generated “press-a-button” tracks with no meaningful human input are not accepted. Additionally, the AI tools used must be ethically trained, and you must provide proof of rights and commercial use licensing for both the tool and the resulting music. If you use AI in your creative process, be prepared to upload supporting documentation during distribution. Submissions that fail to meet our standards may be flagged, delayed, or rejected.
