Been using unchained since 2024, I removed my music for 1.5 yrs and since I came back it has been a nightmare! It freezes, logs me out and takes 4 attempts to upload a song and when I do it’s an error and they ask for copyright paperwork for songs I initially released through them! I finally paid for another distributor and it’s been great! I released all the songs I couldn’t release with unchained!! No pushback! Glad I moved on. My song was selected so I have a partnership type account. Not worth it!!

Hi, thanks for taking the time to share this, and for being with us since 2024. I'm sorry the return hasn't gone smoothly. I've gone back through your account and support history to understand what happened. Two things came up in review, both of which we've mentioned to you. One track used a beat that we needed licensing clearance for before we could send it to stores. Another was submitted with an ISRC that was already registered to a different recording, so we asked for the original audio file to confirm ownership. These checks aren't personal. They apply to every release on our platform, and they protect artists from takedowns, withheld royalties, and account strikes at the store level. Other distributors run their own checks, and stores can still flag issues after a release goes live. We also can't restore play counts for a release that was taken down around two years ago. Once a release is removed, the stores generally retire it, and a re-upload goes out as a new release. We haven't had any support tickets about the freezing or logouts you mentioned, but I'd like to look into it. If you ever want to come back, or you just want a clear explanation of any past decision on your account, email [email protected]. I'm glad your music is out and I wish you all the best with it. Hi Love Fav, Thank you for taking the time to leave this review. I'm sorry your experience has been frustrating, and we'd genuinely like to help resolve what you're running into. In the interest of being straightforward, our team has no record of you reaching out to our support channels before posting this review. We can't fix what we don't see, and we would much rather have had the chance to work through these issues with you directly. On the specific points you raised: 1.)The sign-out behaviour during uploads is most commonly caused by a dropped connection on the customer's end, usually a VPN session resetting or a brief WiFi disconnect mid-upload. It's not something we've seen happen on a stable, direct connection. If you're using a VPN, try disabling it for the upload and see whether the experience changes. 2.) Upload times shouldn't run into hours under normal conditions. File size, format, and connection speed all factor in, but if you're consistently seeing very long uploads, that's something we want to diagnose with you. Most singles can be done within 5-10 minutes, and albums depend on the size of the album. Reaching our team is straightforward through any of these: -Live chat widget at the bottom right of unchainedmusic.io (typical reply under 24 hours on weekdays) -Support form at unchainedmusic.io/faq/support If you reach out today, we're happy to prioritize helping you work through these issues. Unchained Music has been one of the most frustrating distribution services I’ve dealt with. Their support replies take forever, and when they finally respond, it often feels automated and unhelpful. I waited through unnecessary delays only to have my music denied for distribution without any clear explanation or proper guidance on how to fix the issue. As an artist, you expect communication and transparency, but the experience felt extremely unprofessional. Delays, late replies, and vague rejection reasons made the whole process stressful and a waste of time. Definitely not reliable if you want smooth and timely music distribution.

Hi Shayan, Thanks for taking the time to leave feedback. We take reviews seriously, but we want to respectfully share some context, because the experience you've described doesn't match what's on file for your account. Looking at your support history with us, the one ticket you opened (regarding your "YOU AND ME" release in early April) was answered and closed in under 24 hours, which is well within our standard response window for the Grow plan which sits at 3 days. We don't have any other open or unanswered tickets tied to your email. If there's a conversation we missed, please reply here or write to support and we'll trace it down. On the rejection reasons, we want to address this directly. When a release is flagged, our team leaves comments on the specific fields that need to be corrected, and those comments include the exact technical spec required to fix the issue. On your most recent release, the comments noted the following that were provided to you: -The audio file was 32-bit, and we listed every accepted format and bit depth (.wav or .flac, 16-bit or 24-bit at the supported sample rates). -The ISRC field needed the code previously assigned to that release rather than a new one. -The cover art needed to be unique to the release, and the parental advisory sticker can only be used if the release is marked explicit. Each of those is a concrete, fixable instruction tied to a specific field, that was provided to you in your dashboard, via the support ticket you opened, and you were notified of via email. We bring this up not to dismiss your frustration, but because other artists reading your review deserve an accurate picture of how our review process works. We do understand that having a release bounced is stressful, especially when you're ready to put music out. If you'd like, we'd be glad to walk you through the corrections over email so we can get your release live as quickly as possible. Just reply to your existing ticket and we'll pick it back up. Unchained music.io is untrustworthy and scammed Please don’t use this service, I have uploaded my music containing part AI. First album they accepted and distributed, second album was rejected and asked me plenty questions, after I submitted those answers, they rejected my distributed album. When I requested a refund they stated that: With regards to your refund request for your subscription, we unfortunately cannot issue a refund once our service has been engaged. By creating an account, uploading content, submitting releases for review, and agreeing to our Content Policy, Anti-Fraud Policy and Distribution Agreement, at the time of upload, the services included in your subscription have already been utilised. Actually I used this service but I don’t get any service apriciately and they declined my membership without proper notification. And they don’t want to refund me even I warned them to leave bad reviews on TrustPilot but it seems they don’t care about bad reputation. Please stay away from this platform if you don’t want to be wasting money and time and effort. They are most likely scam !

Hi NK Incorporation, Thank you for sharing your experience however we'd like to address your points directly and transparently so that anyone reading this has the full picture. Regarding AI content and Suno: Our Content Policy (unchainedmusic.io/legal/content-policy) and AI Statement (unchainedmusic.io/legal/ai-statement) are publicly available and must be agreed to at the point of signup and again at the point of upload. Section 6.2 of our Content Policy explicitly states that content generated using AI models with unclear, undisclosed, or unlicensed training data is rejected without exception, and specifically names Suno as a disallowed platform alongside Udio and Mureka. We understand that Suno's premium plan may grant commercial usage rights on their platform however that does not override the content policies of distributors, DSPs, or Unchained Music. The issue is not whether you have a Suno subscription, but whether the AI model's training data is transparently and ethically sourced. Until Suno's datasets are independently verified, content generated using it is not eligible for distribution through Unchained Music. This position is aligned with the broader music industry's approach to protecting creators' rights. Regarding your first album being accepted: We continuously strengthen our review processes as AI detection methods and industry standards evolve. If an earlier release was approved that would not meet current standards, that does not set a precedent but rather it reflects an ongoing commitment to improving our content review. We apply our policies consistently moving forward. Regarding your refund: As outlined at signup, once our services have been engaged, including content upload and release submission for review, the subscription has been utilised. Our team reviewed your submissions, asked clarifying questions, and carried out the quality control process included in your plan. That is the service in action, even when the outcome is a rejection. Regarding your characterisation of our platform: Unchained Music is not a scam. We are a registered music distribution company that exists to protect and empower independent artists. Our policies are designed to uphold the integrity of our catalogue and ensure compliance with DSP requirements. We apply these standards equally to every user. Threatening negative reviews does not change how we apply our policies, but we will always respond openly and honestly when our reputation is called into question. We wish you the best with your music and would encourage you to explore AI tools built on verified, ethically sourced datasets, as a list of certified models can be found at fairlytrained.org/certified-models. The worst experience I've ever had with any service or company. They advertised free distribution so I registered and uploaded well mixed and mastered song with a good quality cover image, which all easily fulfilled the requirements. It gave an error without details several times, and support couldn't explain why either. It finally went through months after uploading for the first time. I had given up hope long ago, but a week ago I got an email that my song will be available on Spotify in two days. And behold, it finally appeared, 3 weeks short of a YEAR after uploading it for the first time. Yet it still shows with an error in the web app. I asked the support to take it down since I don't want anything to do with a company like this. They replied that the song hasn't been published since it would require an active subscription. Yet I already listened it on Spotify a few times. So, free distribution isn't free, yet goes through a year later. Good luck with that. REPLYING TO UNCHAINED’S RESPONSE: The cover art was changed when the first upload gave an error, to make sure it didn’t fail because of that. It was then reuploaded to your services with this exact cover art. I have never even tried to upload any music through any other agents. Also, until today the song showed an error on your web platform but if I clicked to it through the artist roster it showed as published. You have now changed it to “removed”, so hopefully that means it’ll be removed from Spotify as well.

Hi Aki, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience, and I'm sorry to hear about the frustration you've had. I want to clarify a couple of points. Our support team has confirmed that your release "Speak" has not been delivered to stores through Unchained Music. It is not in our processing queue, has not been distributed via our platform, and was removed from our system in early 2025. Furthermore, the release that you provided us in 2025 does not have matching cover art to the release that is currently live on Spotify, so it could not have been delivered by us because we have no record of the new cover art. If the song is currently live on Spotify, it would have been delivered by another distributor, and we'd recommend reaching out to them directly regarding any takedown requests. This was communicated to you via the support ticket you opened. If you have any further questions, our support team is happy to help in the support ticket you currently have open.
