I ordered some makeup in November 2022. I sent it back to ULTA in December. I did not get a refund so I sent them a copy of the USPS tracking number with confirmation of delivery to their return address. They responded that they had until January 9 to issue a refund. I still have not received my refund. I wrote them again and still no refund. DO NOT BUY FROM ULTA.

Chat Support FAIL
Literally just got finished trying to claim points (via customer chat) from a fairly new receipt, which showed my redeemable points…and while she explained why it never showed up in my account, she still didn’t solve my particular predicament. I gave her proof, mind you and when I tried to give her a clear understanding, she completely disregarded my message and said, It was a pleasure. “Thank you for contacting Ulta Beauty. Have a nice rest of your time”. Like ma’m, if this issue is beyond you, just say that and direct me to who can help. I feel like I wasted money, I thought I could get redeemable points for… which was over $155. Ulta needs to have a better business plan for their point system, starting with their customer service employees… who don’t know what to do or say. I have proof of my chat history, if a rep wants to actually HELP. They make way too much money, to not have decent customer service reps. This is my first time utilizing their point system, but now I’m rethinking all of that and taking MY money elsewhere.

Illegally detained
My friend was pulled out of the checkout line, falsely accused of shoplifting and illegally detained by Police. Management didn't bother to verify identity on video until AFTER my friend was illegally detained. He was let go without an apology or further explanation. I suspect he was singled out because he is a Gay, Native American as this wasn't the first time he was harassed in the Coeurdalene store by management. Beware if you shop here

Do NOT Do Business At Ulta!!
I received a $100 gift card for Christmas and scheduled a hair appointment with a "Master Stylist". I have been letting my hair grow out for years and it WAS very long past the middle of my back. I told her I French braid my hair and just wanted a trim and to even up my bangs and the ends in the back. My mistake was looking at my phone and not watching her! She cut the hair at my temples and above my ears approximately two inches away from my head!! There are two big chunks of hair gone on both sides of my face that will now stick out like clown hair when I braid my hair!! Now, I have to take time to research what my options are on how to deal with this situation. It makes me sick what she did to me. This is the very reason why I haven't been letting strangers touch my hair and the first time I do (in years), she ruins what I have been working to have for years and years.
Then, I go searching for a mini-size bottle of conditioner. I get home with it, squeeze the tube literally in half and nothing comes out. I go back to the store, tell them I want a return and they say to put the one I bought back on the shelf and get another one only this time I look inside and all of the bottles were not even half full. I pour some of the contents of another bottle into mine and go to the checkout. While at checkout, I remember that I need some eyebrow makeup. I left my bottle of conditioner at the counter. After deciding on what to buy, the salesperson helping me with eyebrow makeup did a lot swapping and switching around with samples and unopened boxes of what I wanted. I get back up to the counter and noticed that the bottle of conditioner I left with them was now almost empty again. I complained and the cashier called the Manager over who took the bottle somewhere and came back with a full bottle. I get home with the eyebrow makeup and, it too, is empty making me believe the salesperson helping me with that pulled the same old "switcheroo" trick.
All of this took place over the course of three days (12/28/22; 12/31/22 and 1/1/23) Needless to say, I won't be back and will be telling everyone I know not to go there. What's even worse is, I do not live where this store is located so I can't go back over there to find the "Master Hairstylist" to confront her about what she did to my hair. I live seven hours away. I decided to go to that store because I was visiting my mother who lived nearby and could go to a store closer to my hometown (later) to finish up the hairstyle I am working towards because the "Master Stylist" put what she did to me (color) in their computer system. That was appealing to me. I am so furious and, hopefully, someone with Ulta will read this and offer some sort of compensation for the damage to my hair and a refund, as well, so I won't have to drive seven hours back to this store.

Bad ulta experience
This afternoon I had a gift card to ulta I was very excited to use. When I walked in I became very anxious by the constant beeping throughout my entire experience. I was looking for lip plumper and an eyeshadow pallet being it was my first time in an ulta I was very confused and in need of assistance. There were only 2 workers on the floor and one of the employees would take to a customer and ramble to each one for about 10 minutes and the other worker completely ignored me when I asked for help. When I got to the register not finding the simple items I should be able to find in a makeup store they were very rude and overall it was a bad experience and I will not be back

Ulta is a JOKE
Ulta is a JOKE! My opinion of them took a nose dive when they had their black friday deals in November. I purchased $250+ worth of items, most of which were going to be Christmas gifts. I used afterpay to pay for my order and was charged twice! After contacting customer service multiple times, they said that this happened to many people using all forms of payment and the charge would drop eventually. The lack of care that the employees showed that Ulta was charging people more than once (I know someone was charged FOUR TIMES on their credit card) is unbelievable. Many people being charged multiple times by a company isn't normal, in fact, I've never had that happen to me before. That's not it though. My order arrives, and about $30 in product arrives out of this $250+ order, along with a hairdryer I never purchased. Now, I need two refunds!!! I contacted them immediately about this and they said they'd "look into it" and couldn't refund or reship the missing products because it was such a huge error. They said I'd hear back within 48 hours with a verdict. Fast forward 48 hours and they say they're still looking into it. Exactly a week later I called them again, livid. By this time the fraudulent Afterpay charge was dropped. They almost immediately issued a refund for my missing items after I called them this second time, which begs the question...were they hoping that I forgot that they owed me over $200??? Because I am almost sure I would not have gotten my money back if I wasn't running them down.
AND THAT'S NOT ALL FOLKS!
After weeks of not purchasing anything from Ulta, I decided to on 12/25 because of a decent GWP. I had a gift card and a coupon I was planning on using. After pressing the "place order" button on the app, the page circled and circled for almost a minute. They said the app was taking a "beauty rest" (convenient, huh?) and that the order couldn't be placed. I immediately started to panic, since this was very similar to what happened the previous month. And guess what?? It was the same thing that happened last month! The problem though is that this time, my single-use coupon now was marked as used, my gift card was charged, and my credit card was charged. How does the charge on a gift card drop?? Oh yeah, it can't. I contacted Ulta's customer service, they said to contact the gift card company, CashStar. CashStar said to contact Ulta. Ulta then tried to pass me back to CashStar. The passing of responsibility is UNBELIEVABLE, which I said to them. They then said they'd do a review, but then suddenly offered to reimburse me for the gift card and give me a new coupon. So now I've got a shiny new Ulta gift card, and I am definitely shopping in-store with it because I can't deal with this bullsh*t anymore. And after that, I'm done with the company.
If you're still reading this, thank you for sticking with me. The entire experience as a whole has wasted so much of my time and left me feeling like a miserable "Karen" for trying to make sure Ulta didn't scam me. Long story short, if you're on the fence about purchasing from Ulta, either don't, or do it in person.

Cashier was poorly trained on…
Cashier was poorly trained on transactional Knowledge. I had a transaction for almost $400 and I wanted to do a split payment. After my first payment I wanted to add something else . Without any communication she voided my payment and left me with days pending on the refund during holiday season . So instead of $400 I am out $537 as I have to wait for this voided payment to be refunded . Had I’d been informed I would’ve paid for the added item separately . Nothing was done no Courtesy item was given no discount off NOTHING . I am a valued Ulta customer and I am appalled and don’t know if I will continue to give them my money . Sephora it is.
