Ulta BeautyReviews of ulta.com

Closing at 1900/7pm is unacceptable!!! There are jobs out there that do not get off until 7pm for instance nurses, law enforcement etc. By closing at 7 you are not giving them the same opportunity as others.

While the staff was nice enough at my recent visit to Ulta, my concern is that the last few times I’ve gone there no one I ask for help from knows anything about the products. It’s disappointing because a store that’s charging that much for cosmetics should not have clueless staff when a customer asks a simple question on something like semipermanent hair dye. I expect this kind of thing at understaffed Big Box stores but not at Ulta. I know the reasons. Everywhere is understaffed. But I’d grown to love the great service at Ulta and the knowledgeable staff they used to have.

I've had 5 different appointments scheduled and out of those 5 appointments only ONE was kept by the stylist. This was at 2 different locations in Sunnyvale, CA. I'm giving them a 2 only because I liked what was done at the one appointment that was kept. However, it was expensive for a haircut and partial highlights. I was looking for a better experience than my previous stylist but I'd rather actually get an average experience and actually get a cut/highlights than get nothing at all. Ulta management wouldn't work to fit me in at a time that worked for me and one manager actually told me that stylist was not reliable....maybe they should stop making appointments for him then. Extremely disappointed with their customer service and pricing. Will not be going back.

Ulta salon prices are extremely high for inexperienced hair stylists. I went in for a partial highlight ($105) and it took over 3 hours. The stylist didn’t touch the scalp only the ends of the hair all the while processing the color and washing the hair. She seemed very inexperienced. If this is a learning faculty the pricing should reflect accordingly. Very disappointed.

Today I went to Ulta in Fort Collins-CO, Foothills location (1168) to buy a Christmas present. There were signs saying that were a free gift when buying fragrances at $60 or more. I spent $89 in one perfume and when I asked about my free gift to the attendant, she clearly didn't know anything about it and refused to give me, saying that there was no gift in that store (??). Very disappointed with this store.

Got $60 “gift “ for Black Friday “ that’s a joke. Disgusting. You can’t give it away. Down hill company 😞

I was in the Williamsburg, VA store yesterday and spent over $360.00. I gave the cashier my $15 coupon and she told me it didn’t apply to my items. Well ok, so I give her the page for the free gift and she says ‘that was a recall’ so there isn’t a free gift. If your Company doesn’t honor what’s in your flier, don’t send them!

Don't bother. Go to Sephora. I've been shopping at Ulta for years now, but lately my experiences ordering online (and the associated customer service) has been so abysmal that I'll no longer be giving them my business. I've paid for expedited shipping and when I've not received my items on time as promised, Ulta has not wanted to refund those costs. Returning things online has been an issue and I've been told to go to my nearest store instead. Their (online) customer service staff is no longer helpful or even polite.
