I find ulta is a non professional business. For example, i always purchased my skincare, haircare, etc from ulta but rarley very rarely almost never got a sample although i purchased those items comes with a sample or gift, but that never happned for me niether online or in store, saying no supplies!! Second, last few days, there was an offer on an item, around 11am i went to purchase from the store, the manger said it is out of stock, sorry!. 30 minutes later i went through the mall and back again to ula i saw the same item i was asking for!!so why?!besides many other stories unfortunately.

Terrible Customer Service at Ulta!
I placed an online order with Ulta using 2000 of my Ulta points & Ulta credit card...something I've done a dozen times before. The system would not let my purchase go through, however. After giving up, I came to realize that I had 2 charges on my credit card. One for the amount using my points and one for the full amount not using my points. However, there was no purchase order. I called customer service and they said they are working on the refund of the two charges and will put in a trouble ticket about the missing order. I received a mail from an Ulta Beauty Guest Services rep in response to the trouble ticket that indicated they revoked my ability to place an order online because supposedly I've gone against their terms & conditions. They advised they cannot accept orders outside of the US. I'm in the US!! I've ordered from them a dozen times before to my US address! I followed up to advise they're mistaken and I was then told that they have "limited visibility on which term is restricting [my] order" and that I still can no longer place online orders with them. If they cannot confirm the term restricting my access, then how can they say its my fault, by way of no longer permitting me to place online orders? Anyway, terrible experience. I responded saying they lost a customer.

Poor Customer Service Regarding Lost Item
Sure, Ulta has one of the best rewards systems for beauty purchases and I was completely sold on Ulta as my go-to place when I received all my orders as expected, but Ulta's customer service leaves much to be desired when there are issues with online orders.
I placed an online order for about $100 worth of products (including some items that were on a one-day 50% off discount) using my one-time 20% off prestige coupon code. The UPS tracking info showed that the package had been delivered to my front door on 12/11, but I was home the whole day and did not receive any deliveries that day. I followed Ulta.com's suggestion to wait 3 days for the package to show before contacting customer service; during this time I checked with my neighbors and I checked the mailbox for the package.
On the 14th, I reached out to Ulta regarding the still-missing package. Their response on the 15th included the following suggestions: 1) Check with my local post office; 2) Dispute the charge with my credit card company. These suggestions seemed inadequate given my only previous experience with lost packages from online orders; in that instance, the seller (Amazon) immediately offered to ship out a replacement item.
Per their suggestion, I checked the post office tracking numbers on this package and USPS showed that they had yet to receive the package from UPS. After informing them of this fact, their next response directed to do the following: 1) Contact USPS regarding delivery information; 2) Wait 10 days from the order placement date, i.e. until the 16th, for the package to show. If it does not arrive by the 16th, Ulta would provide further assistance. I had already contacted USPS before this response and had informed Ulta of this. Furthermore, while their website directed me to wait 3 days from the stated delivery date before seeking Ulta's assistance, I was now being told to wait 10 days from the order date; these 2 wait periods do not coincide with each other.
On the 17th, I had still not received the package and I informed Ulta of this and asked them to provide documentation regarding the delivery. They provided the Ulta tracking info that I initially saw that stated the package was dated on the 11th by UPS and suggested that I dispute the charge with my credit card company. At this point, I felt that I had been given the run-around for the following reasons: 1) On their correspondence from the 15th, Ulta had promised further assistance if the package did not show by the 16th, but their response on the 17th provided a suggestion that they had already provided in their initial response on the 15th. 2) Despite directing me on multiple occasions to check with the local post office (USPS), I was now being told by Ulta that the package had been delivered by UPS.
On the 18th, for clarity, I laid out the 4 issues I saw as being unaddressed by Ulta guest services in order to give them a chance to resolve them. As a summary these issues were: 1) The uncertainty regarding whether UPS or USPS had delivered the package; 2) The unwillingness to provide the "further assistance" promised; 3) Lack of offer to replace the one-time 20% off coupon code; 4) Lack of suggestions regarding how to replace the items that were on the one-day sale.
Ulta responded with an email that was not conciliatory or apologetic and that included several grammatical errors that detracted from understanding. Ulta guest services was now stating that they would not be able to do anything about my concerns until UPS had reported the package as lost. I had already filed a UPS lost package claim at this point, though the UPS website clearly suggests that the shipper file such claims because they would only send notifications to the shipper. The first question UPS asked me when they called to initiate the process was whether I had contacted the seller for a replacement. To me, this indicated that Ulta's unwillingness to handle this lost item situation was unreasonable.
When Sephora or Saks had canceled items from my orders in the past, their notifications were extremely apologetic and conciliatory. Now, I am out of more than $100, no longer have a coupon code, and will not be able to gift as expected for the holidays.

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE THROUGH AND THROUGH
VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. IF you have any problems, don't expect their customer service to be helpful, offer feasible solutions or give you anything to work with.
Ordered makeup kits for the gifts. When they arrived there were razor blade slashes through two of the branded kits. One of them all the way across the front. Not presentable as a gift and never should have been sent to me like this as it was very obviously damaged.
Strike 1
Ulta refused to issue a refund, allow me to send it back free of charge because the product (makeup/nailpolish) inside itself was not damaged.
Strike 2
CS needs better training, The rep was very defensive saying, "I actually used to work in the warehouse", and would not listen to me. I kept trying to explain this wasn't the shipping box, or a generic gift box that was damaged but the BRANDED box specifically designed for this nail polish which makes the undersized nail polishes and makeup inside a presentable gift. He kept saying, "I got it" but it was clear he wasn't understanding or didn't care to, he had written me off completely.
He actually told me I was asking him to LIE about the condition of the product and "these phone calls are recorded". Very dissatisfied with Ulta policies and the flippant attitude of this representative. I truly hope someone will review his phone call and use it as a service training opportunity.
STRIKE 3
Overall, this was my first Ulta order and I won't be back.
I refuse to shop at or support companies who don't respect me or my money. Buh Bye Ulta

Buyer Beware.
Ordered $140 of gifts for my associates during the holidays, and my package never arrived. Apparently the package had been scanned as delivered. I run a small online retail store out of my home, and ship about 40 packages per day with the USPS, so I know my mail person personally. He said he never delivered any packages to me on the day in question, which made sense, since I talked to him on that day as well during our pickup.
I reached out to see what the holdup was, but was told because I spent "way too much" (yes literally that's what the representative typed), I didn't qualify for any kind of help, and the only recourse I had was to report fraud on my card, even though the charges weren't fraudulent, which will cause me to have to change my business card number, and take an entire day of listing a new card with all the vendors I purchase from.
I am seriously so appalled. I had a package get lost a couple years back at a different address from a hot sauce company, and they immediately rectified the situation. Super lame that you get better service from an online hot sauce company than from somewhere you've spent thousands of dollars.
