About Traveler's Joy

We're a small group of folks that started Traveler's Joy on a stoop in Brooklyn, NY in 2004. However, it all really started in 2003 with the serendipitous meeting of our founders at the first overnight hut of the Milford Track in New Zealand. Taking the company from a muddy hike on the South Island to the world's most popular honeymoon registry in a few short years required a lot of work. Luckily we have the best team in the world! Traveler's Joy continues to grow into a new decade and we're all very excited at what the future will bring. Not Fare

Having a honeymoon registry was very convenient but I do not like that we do not get all the funds that we are given as a gift. I don't think it is fare that if we are gifted $200 we don't get the whole $200.

I'm also really sorry that you were not aware of our fee free option that allows your guests to give you cash or a check and still mark items off of your registry. We try to make the fee as apparent as possible including within our Common Questions section ("How much does it cost?') and our Terms of Use each couple agrees to when signing up for Traveler's Joy. Below is the full explanation of how much Traveler's Joy can cost but if any couple wants to avoid the fee, they simply have to accept check or cash. Finally, the fee covers processing the credit card (which can cost us up to 3%), hosting, features, and services of your registry, phone support five days a week, twenty-four hour email support, and support for your wedding guests who wish to purchase a gift for you over the phone. The fee also allows us to pay our US based team a living wage, pay the rent, and keep the coffee flowing. For gifts given using a credit card, 2.95% is deducted from the gift amount. The gift giver is also charged 2.95% + $0.99 on checkout. These fees cover processing the credit card (which can cost us up to 3%), hosting, features, and services of your registry, phone support five days a week, twenty-four hour email support, and support for your wedding guests who wish to purchase a gift for you over the phone. You also have the option to give all the credit card fees to the guest making ALL gifts 100% FREE for you to receive. From the same settings, you can also choose to have all fees deducted from the gift amount. This makes a gift cost guests just $0.99 to provide. It's totally up to you!
