This ‘insurance’ is a scam. You can cancel your trip for any reason but don’t expect a refund. It’s designed to drag out and deny claims. I have waited a month for a claim that I was told would take 7 to 10 days. And forget about taking to an English speaking representative who actually understands and responds to questions. Waste of money, and time.

Do not waste your money
Do not waste your money. The company and insurance are a scam. They do everything possible to avoid giving you your money back. You don’t even get to speak with people in America, and the process drags on for months, clearly designed to wear you down until you give up, only for them to deny you in the end.
Honestly, it’s better to buy no insurance at all and take the risk than to go through the frustration of dealing with this company. This plan is worthless, misleading, and completely unfair. Royal Caribbean should be ashamed of offering something that feels so deceptive and exploitative.

I had to cancel a Royal Caribbean…
I had to cancel a Royal Caribbean cruise due to my wife being ill and not being able to take a 6 hour flight safely without problems. I started a claim, filled out the paperwork and obtained a form for her doctor to fill out and return. After 7 days I received 2 emails stating that the claim was approved. As it stated, 5 days later I received an email with payment processing instructions. The payment was in my Chase account literally within 10 seconds. In talking to AON’s phone representatives during this process all of them were friendly, professional and helpful. I’m gobsmacked at how simple and streamlined this process was. WELL DONE!

Purchased through Disney
I purchased travel insurance through Disney, administered by Aon Affinity/Arch Insurance, for my October 2024 trip. A mandatory hurricane evacuation forced me to leave two days early, leaving me with $690 in unused, non-refundable hotel accommodations.
Disney refunded my park tickets and meals, but the insurance company has repeatedly denied my claim, giving shifting excuses — first saying I had been reimbursed (which was only partially true), then saying my accommodations weren’t booked “directly” through Disney (which is not an exclusion in the policy).
I have submitted receipts, a letter from the rental company confirming the non-refundable amount, and copies of the policy showing coverage. Despite this, I’ve been asked multiple times to re-upload documents, only to face more denials and delays.
This experience has been exhausting, and I feel the company is making me work far harder than should be necessary for a clear covered loss. I cannot recommend Aon Affinity for travel insurance.

Do Not Use AON Travel Insurance!
I was told by Celebrity Cruise Lines that if I cancelled for any medical reason, I would be fully refunded. That was an absolute lie. My wife had to have wrist surgery for an existing condition and I was denied a refund. The Celebrity Cruise Lines representative who sold me this policy for around $700 received a commission for it as did Celebrity. The run around I received from AON and speaking endlessly with people who do not speak good English was beyond frustrating. They drag things out and their lack of being able to speak without foreign accents is infuriating. DO NOT PURCHASE ANY INSURANCE FROM AON. THEY DO EVERYTHING THEY CAN TO NOT PAY CLAIMS!

Aon Insurance
We purchased Aon insurance through Oceania Cruise Line for a trip to the Norwegian Fjords. Our pre and post cruise stops in London and Oslo were arranged by and paid for through Oceania. Insurance was charged on the total cost of the trip. My partner had her passport stolen in London, had to remain in London to obtain a Temporary passport from the US Embassy and had to fly to Belfast to join the cruise on its third day. Due to the Temporary passport we both had to disembark early in Oslo and depart the country immediately by flying home. We lost the funds we had paid for two nights in Oslo and our return airfare tickets. Aon considered this a "delay" in our trip and not an "interruption" meaning that our reimbursement was limited to $500 each. Collectively we lost over $11,000 due to this insurance scam. Do not ever arrange insurance through Oceania or Aon Insurance.

Aon insurance is a SCAM
Aon insurance is a SCAM. They do not cover anything. Dont waste your money. They don't cover anything. I was on a cruise just walked on the boat. I received
word of my nephews death. They will not pay because I filed as trip cancel not trip interruptions. They do not cover death. THEY TOLD ME TO READ FINE PRINT. THEY DO NOT COVER DEATH. If it does not fit their criteria. I have been fighting with them since May. I have asked to talk to manager and cowards will not call me back. They hide behind form letters. AON IS NOT REPUTABLE!

I gave this company a 1 because zero is…
I gave this company a 1 because zero is not a choice. Bought the insurance, canceled the stay, spent an hour gathering and scanning documentation required to file the claim just to be told my reason for cancelling was not covered. What a JOKE!
