The company is using a pre-existing condition as a reason to deny my claim. I had two different eye issues, but my surgeon had approved me for travel months before the surgery took place. AON is refusing to process the payment. I'm considering seeking legal advice to help resolve this matter.

STAY AWAY!!!!!
STAY AWAY!!!!!
This has been, without a doubt, the worst insurance claims experience I've ever had.
When we booked a cruise for my in-laws, we purchased travel insurance because my mother-in-law has dementia and Alzheimer's. We knew there was always a chance she might not be able to travel, even though she had her doctor's approval at the time and we care for her every day.
Unfortunately, her condition declined before the trip, and we made the difficult decision to cancel the cruise. Thankfully, the cruise line was understanding and issued us a 100% future cruise credit for the $1,000 we had already paid.
The insurance company, however, was a completely different story.
I started the claim on April 29, and it wasn't finally resolved until July 16—nearly three months later. Instead of telling us everything they needed upfront, they repeatedly requested one document at a time.
First, they asked for a doctor's note. We submitted it and heard absolutely nothing. After waiting about a month, I called to check on the claim, only to find out they seemed to have no idea what I was talking about. We essentially had to start the process over.
Then they required us to complete their own physician's form. Once that was submitted, we thought we were finally done. Nope. Next, they decided they needed to contact the doctors themselves—not by phone or email, but by mailing forms through regular postal mail. And not just one physician, but multiple doctors. We tried doing our due diligence to also make sure before even booking the cruise that the insurance made sense with the help (or not so much……) with Royal Carribbean. After many many cruises, this was the first time we had purchased insurance.
Every step involved more waiting, more paperwork, and another request that could have easily been disclosed from the beginning.
After nearly three months of back-and-forth, all of that effort resulted in a reimbursement of just $250 out of the $688 we paid for their travel insurance.
The entire experience has honestly made me reconsider cruising altogether if these are the insurance companies cruise lines choose to partner with.
Save yourself the aggravation. The claims process was unnecessarily complicated, communication was poor, and customer service was consistently frustrating. Based on my experience, I would never purchase insurance through this company again.

Aon is also Princess Cruise travel insurance.
I just wanted to bring that to people's attention. As I see, it's mostly Norwegian, I am now disputing. I traveled with my bank as Aon denied everythinghas 3 years, 4 doctors, all the medical records that they needed everything. We are out $10576. I will continue to do reviews on this. Horrible company .

AON travel insurance, scam company!
We had to cancel an Oceania cruise because of my husband's health condition. We had bought Oceania's reccommended travel insurance, AON. My husband's congestive heart failure took a sudden turn for the worst in the weeks before the cruise. He now has to have a heart valve replacement done ASAP. In addition, he has recently been diagnosed with NPH, a condition involving fluid pressure on the brain. His symptoms made it impossible for us to continue our cruise plans. We filed a travel insurance claim with AON several weeks ago. NPH was suspected by his neurologist on 4/27 and further testing confirmed it on 6/5. I have sent medical records and doctor's statements to the AON travel insurance company above and beyond what they should need! Yet they keep asking for more info which further delays the claims process. I have forwarded info from my husbands doctor three times at AON's request! And now they want to contact the doctors directly for confirmation. That was several days ago, and his doctors have not yet heard from them. And now AON is not answering my email requests for claim status. Really tired of these delay tactics and ready to call in a lawyer! Apparently, AON has been getting lots of bad reviews for situations similar to ours for a long time! I'm surprised an upscale cruise line like Oceania would associate itself with a scam company such as AON! When I booked the cruise, I added their reccommmended travel insurance without question just in case we needed it. Never again! Not AON and not Oceania!

AON Travel Protection insurance is a…
AON Travel Protection insurance is a scam that Norweigan sells. They have actual practice to deny claims after filing about multiple doctor documents and eating 2 months. It is delay and never honor the policy They tell to refer to policy terms. I wish Norweigan tells you that before they sell it. They get 0 zero stars. Unfortunately it is not an option.

accident on cruise ship
1 hour into my cruise (before it left the doc) I had an accident and was taken off the ship by ambulance to a hospital in Honolulu for surgery on my shoulder. I was in the hospital for 4 nights and of course the ship left without us. We had to change our flight home from vancouver, BC to Honolulu. They show they will pay %150 of cruise fare for interrupted cruise due to an accident or illness, plus the airfare difference. Our cruise was over $4000 for the 2 of us, plus the airfare difference. They paid $5123 which shows maximum allowed. I questioned where they came up with that amount and could not get a response. my accident was actually 4/28/25, but the calendar won't go back that far.

Awful Company
Awful. Do not purchase from them. We had booked a cruise in November to leave in May on NCL. I found out March that I had to get radiation treatments in May so I had to cancel. They said it was pre-existing and denied it. So if I had a cold and developed pneumonia that would be pre-existing too??? DO NOT purchase..get your own policy thru a legitimate carrier. It will be cheaper and you won't be dealing with people that are scam artists. NCL needs to take some blame in this too.
