Phoenix - wheels down=4:15 p.m. retrieve luggage =4:40 p.m. Shuttle to rental center= long line to board bus Enter Thrifty line until finished at counter= 1 1/2 hours (was told 25-30 minutes wait for vehicle - but hopefully not that long) turns out that would have been a blessing Waiting for car to be brought up = 1 1/2 hours Departing rental center = 7:59 p.m. Almost 4 hours from touching down to exiting rental center!!! And the worst part is, their system was so flayed that NO ONE could tell me when my car might be ready and/or how much longer we would wait. They finally gave me a vehicle that was sitting there the entire time of our wait, or it would have been a longer wait. And we weren't alone in this....frustrated families waiting everywhere!! I have never experienced anything like this. Every so often a worker would grab my ticket and look around to confirm what I already knew....my vehicle was not ready/available, but when asked "when will my vehicle appear"?....I was told "there was no way to know that of find out". I mentioned how long we had waited and the employee said(almost proudly) " some have waited twice that long"!!! Are you kidding me?? Last time using Thrifty...

Simply awful. Booked well in advance, still had to wait in line 2 hours and was told that I was “lucky” to have gotten a car (that was not actually the model that I booked). Service was very poor, attendant was rude and unhelpful. I booked through wisecars and paid with my debit card. When I arrived to Thrifty and had to pay the taxes (and ridiculous admin fees), they required a different card. The car I got has cigarette burns, a broken rear view mirror, and the the check engine light came on yesterday. I’m cringing knowing that I will return it today - more crappy service awaits...

The primary complaint is we rented a car in Ft Myers Florida. The Toll booths at all contactless and your plate is scanned and you are emailed a bill for $2. I am guessing in small print there was something about tolls in the contract, but nothing was mentioned. I fully expect to pay the tolls I incure. but I just received a bill for the two times I passed through these tolls totaling $4, but I was billed $23.98!!!! They charge $9.99 in "administrative fees"!!! Really? Thrifty receives these bills and sends one monthly payment for the total of all their cars. THey then charge $10 per toll! They are totally taking advantage of the situation! Total BS!

oh where to begin.. Lets start with we had to wait almost 2 hours for our car, in which we had ordered an all wheel drive because we were going into the Colorado mountains. they stuck us in a 2 wheel drive piece of crap. the service was horrible and rude. they pretty much told us tough luck. everyone is wanting an all wheel drive and we had to take what we were given or nothing with no refund. the car had low tire pressure, the breaks squealed, we had to buy new windshield wipers because we couldn't see and fill the washer fluid. so to sum it up the customer service was horrible and the car was even worse.

I tried to rent a car with Thrifty car rental in Vancouver Canada, on the website it says free cancellation, in regards my case they took me more than 50 dollars after my 'Free cancellation' ! I try to get back my money, I have been redirected 5 or 6 times towards different phone numbers without any solution ! This is unacceptable !!

Reservation.... Check In advance.....Check Landed in Tampa Florida, went to pick up my rental car. There was a line of people 200+ with reservations. We waited in line "standing" for 4 hours to get our reserved rental car. Totally wrecked my first day of vacation. No appoligies, no discounts no offer of any compensation. Very disappointed. I felt terrible for the elderly that had to wait the same amount of time.

Why can't we give negative stars? ON Dec 19th 2019 I landed at the Denver airport. I didn't want to travel during the pandemic but had no choice. I felt relatively safe during the process until I boarded a the Thrifty bus to take me to the rental agency. The first stop we were all distanced. Then a second stop was made and the bus was PACKED!!! Standing room only. I had people breathing down on me, some had their masks half on and half off. I was scared. I was sitting up front by the driver who, incidentally had his area roped off, and I asked him why he was letting so many people on. He rolled his eyes and said..." oh eff ( he didn't use eff though) off". I was stunned into silence. i wanted off that bus so bad but by now it was in the middle of nowhere and I had tons of luggage. I was scared..there were so many people some with their masks half on and half off. When we reached the rental place I waited for everyone to get off and asked his name. He turned away and said " I don't need to give you my effing ( again, not the word he used) name. I'm no prude but is that the way Thrifty trains it's employees to talk to customers. Apparently he thought it was ok..and maybe it is. We'll see if thrifty reaches out. The only way to get ahold of anyone is through email which I have done. I would ask anyone that has had to go out of business or is suffering because of this stupid pandemic to take your business elsewhere. Thrifty is not following any protocols so you literally take your life in your hands if you board one of their buses. If every other business has had to make the necessary changes to keep people safe why doesn't thrifty feel that it has to? Side note: I was watching the line of ALL those people waiting to reach the counter to get their car and there were 1-2 agents. They were going to be standing in line for a very long time to get a car. If their protocol is so lax i highly doubt that they take the time to clean the cars after each rental. This was a nightmare and an afront to all of us that have had to make great sacrifices to get through this. Rent your car with someone else!!!! I'll update to let you know if anyone at thrifty reaches out.

Be careful. Thrifty is not repaying my card deposit, its been 45 days since I returned the car with no problems, and they claim to have already paid the deposit into my account, and that I need to sort it out with my bank. I am now stuck with a fraud case that I need to deal with to try to get my deposit back. Go for another company and avoid the hassle.
