Likes: RTA Store provides a free designer to work with you. Wide selection. Free shipping after spending a couple grand. Good sales -- if you can catch them. Dislikes: The designers take so long to get back to you that the sale price comes and goes in the meantime. The designer we worked with was not clear enough in her emails. Her language was confusing. Her explanations were not organized enough. Communication is key. Because her communication skills were so poor, we had to go back-and-forth a lot, and so the sale window came and went. They don't allow you to Zoom with the designer. That seems counterintuitive in 2025 when there is AI and so many other platforms/apps that are available allowing customers to view designs, live, with designers. The product pages for the cabinetry accessories don't say which types of RTA cabinets they are compatible with. As a result, we chose things for our cabinetry design that weren't compatible with our cabinetry selection. But the designer took over a week to figure that out. That makes no sense. She should have been able to easily and quickly enter that SKU into a search tool that would given her a list of all cabinetry that that particular accessory was compatible with. Heck, with AI these days, she should have been able to quickly query whether that part was compatible with (would fit inside) the cabinet that we already had selected with the designer. Files shared with customers should have titles that reflect exactly what they are and exactly when they were created. (The designers change a lot. It gets confusing.)

The selection choice is superb. The design team is amazing. They took a rough drawing and created exactly what I wanted. I was so excited until I received the quote. The pricing for a contractor is just too high when compared to other cabinetry companies and unfortunately, I was not able to use RTA. Just wasn't enough in my budget to make it work.

It was difficult to compare products side by side; discounts were applied in bulk rather than one at a time (products were shown full price in basket rather than their discounted prices). But the dollars worked out - just had to do math again at checkout.

DO NOT buy molding/trim. It is not RTA and costs five times more than anything you can buy locally. I designed my kitchen but the designer at theRTAstore was able to point out where I needed fill spaces so the doors would not hit each other. She also sold me on trim pieces. Once the cabinets arrive I only had five days to find all the damaged parts. It took me three days just to open the boxes and unwrap the pieces. There were several problems, but customer service was quick to send new pieces. Once assembly started, the kitchen came together quickly. Final step in the project was the trim. The molding was too short to go from the cabinets to the ceiling, but boards were included to fill that gap. No instructions, no hardware, and NOT ready to assemble. When I reached out, I was told the mfg would not take trim pieces back and it probably would have cost more to ship anyway. I spent an extra $500, I feel stupid , and I feel cheated.

I loved my experience with the RTA store when I was working with the design team. My designer, Travis, is amazing. Super friendly and very easy to work with throughout the design. I thought so highly of this company until receiving my products which is mainly because of the company "rules", the customer service is responsive and kind. The shipments I received got super messed up. They used Saia freight for one and R&L for the other. Saia freight did not honor the drop of schedule they set up. Instead of coming from 12pm to 5pm the driver arrived at 830am and left the pallets in my driveway. I didnt sign for them, get to look over them, or anything. Then had to take the pallets apart and move each box one by one into the garage so they didnt get rained on. R&L delivered my shipment late and didnt call till the very end of the shipping window (also 12pm to 5pm) to tell me it needed to be rescheduled. I told customer service about this issue and they reimbursed me the $150 rush fee I paid for the shipment coming through R&L, however, that was my only compensation. If you get the RTA cabinets and plan on doing the assembly yourself, the instructions are TERRIBLE. If youve ever built something from IKEA and seen their directions those are decent; RTAs directions (which Im pretty sure are just Cabinet Depot directions) are 10x worse. I purchased a single oven cabinet that says it can be modified to a double oven. This is really only true if you hire a carpenter to modify it for you and there are no directioms to modify it if you want to try it for yourself. You have to remove pieces of the frame and widen the frame for it to work and then insert your own shelf that can bear the load of the double oven. It is extremelt misleading. Lastly, I wanted to return the trash pull-out because it is just way too small. The customer service agent told me that it will be a 25% restocking fee and I have to pay for the shipping. The pull out was $375.00 (yes, I regret even paying that price gouging amount). so the restocking fee is around $100 plus whatever shipping will be, which Im guessing will be significant. Overall, you are probably better off going elsewhere and paying a little more for high quality cabinetsthat come with less stress and hassle.
